New car offers?!

Don't forget that post the financial fvck-up crisis thingy most finance companies will under-estimate the end of term value of a car. Rather than just giving it back you may be better off to pay the balloon and then sell the car.

That's right. Commonly GFVs are 20% below likely trade price.

Go back 5+ years and guaranteed future values were a) guaranteed, and b) really quite high, thus reducing deposits as well as monthly fees.

Now they're pretty pessimistic and not always guaranteed (although I suspect main dealer finance deals are more likely to be guaranteed), so in case the value of your pride and joy drops like a stone you may be stung for the difference if you intend to give it back. In which case a pessimistic future value is a helpful hedge against unhelpful depreciation.

New Aygo, C1 and 108 revealed today, look like quite a step up from the previous generation.

Interesting Lofty; any reliable images of the Aygo yet, I can only find the C1. That looks a much heavier and chunkier vehicle; their advantage has been their nimbleness... Had two Aygos back to back, great little eco buggies!

No Toyota pics yet, just the Pug and C1, they do look chunkier but still only weigh 840kg ish I believe

They all become over weight small cars as big as the Yaris now. Like the VW Up as big as the original mk1 Golf and just look how big the current Golf is. Just my rambling thoughts though.

All three, the C1, 108 and the Aygo are made in the same Czechoslovakian factory Frank, but the parts, prices and resale residuals are in this ascending order. It is why we have gone with the Aygo both times, it is hard to explain how they manage to make the near identical C1 sound tinnier than the Aygo but somehow they do! Mechanically they are identical. The earlier ones had mechanical windows in the C1 and electric in the 108 & Aygo and yet the mechanics cost more to produce than the electrics... The engine is about the size of a shoe box, the radiator is about A4 but they are funky to drive and you can fit 4 large adults in; so long as you don't want to move!

VWFS are doing some crazy deals on the current Golf R (300bhp, AWD).

£2400 deposit + £180 fee. then £178.79 pcm incl. VAT.

With deposit and fee works out at £6,692.17 over two years. Absolute bargain for a car of this calibre.

You can also spec it with a DSG and the price is £209 inc. VAT which is also great.

Excess mileage is 7p/mile so if you go over the 10,000 allowance then you will be charged the excess.
