Remember SM are planning an Italian Passes trip this time next year so it might be best to put some distance between the two. How about in the Spring, then members can get Spa/Le Mans/Italy over next year nicely spaced.

I'm a massive fan of Spa, been there a few times now.

It's quite ******* heavy cars though. To give you an idea, below is a vid of me in the Lambo a couple of years ago. After a couple of laps my brake pedal was spongy and sinking to the floor and my tyres had melted. I could only go out for a few laps at a time and then come in for an hour to let it cool down. Conversely my Lotus will go around there all day long with hardly any tyre wear at all.

Anyway, gratuitous vid posting here \/

It rains there all Spring. So no...

How about going on from there to the Italian Passes? Makes good use of the Channel crossing and the drive 20% of the way to the Alps.

Gets my vote given I'll probably be doing the same miles to get to the channel that most do in Europe run!

I recon on the way back as members will be less inclined to spank their cars knowing they have to do the passes after.

Either way mate - it saves a significant expense and time in making that Channel crossing for most people. I wonder how many takers for new brake pads there will be at Spa, after the passes? :)

Spa seems like a lot of expense for a track day (a long way for me in the North) but combined with an Italian Passes trip sounds epic. I'd definitely be up for that.

Might be useful to have someone drive a support van with spare wheels, tyres, brake pads, oil, tools etc. We will all need to pay for that if we run that option, but could be one of us if a couple of people are prepared to share a track car..

I have a 2013 fiat doblo XL, if this comes off I'd be interested in providing the support van if you go that route

I'd also be prepared to do the photography

It's a big small van with a payload of around 700kg bigger than a standard doblo

Nice offer Wack61, but for the love of whichever deity is applicable, please don't post any more photos of a Doblo! :D We all know what an ugly van looks like - more motorsports please :)

Certailnly interested in SPA day, but very much depends on the dates.
Have already signed up for european tour startin 5th August organised by "Rally For Heroes". Did similary tour last year too, and brakes on the 3200 AC survived the whole trip including at least 6 mountain passes. The QP seems to be harder on brakes ............. and tyres (after Brunty)

It will depend on the dates for everyone, I'm sure Rob. At this stage, we are just looking to see who has any interest at all in a 2016 Spa session.

QP standard brake pads are not up to stopping the car on the open roads, as far as I'm concerned. They need to have better material - I can really recommend the EBC YellowStuff for track use on a QP. No fade at all. For tyres - you need to get a scrubbed set. It's a heavy car mate...

Ill be going Yellow Stuff for track only after hearing from MAF that the beloved Mintex were fading, great for a road pad as they cold bite really well, not so good for pushing on a track.
