I will start by admitting I Googled ad hominem. But basically someone believes the pandemic started as an accident in a laboratory, some one else on here agrees with that possibility, but another on here strongly disagrees, that should really be the end of it. Or, does the other person who disagrees have a more Logical explanation as to the cause. If so please put it forward and I am sure it can be debated. But not by me, I do not really understand big words.
But isn't everything made in China these days?Time and time again thoughout human history our species has been devastated by new diseases yet somehow when it happens now “it has to have been made in a Chinese lab because any other reason is impossible”. I’m surprised Samuel Pepys didn’t have a bit of a rant about those exotic far easterners in his diary or Moses mention them in the Old Testament
As far as I am aware, the US introduced an exemption for declaring the origins of their produce, the continuance of which will almost certainly will be part of a trade deal. If you buy anything with chicken in it, you might not know where it's from. KFC anyone? The thing I find really funny about this is that if they do start to import it, you don’t have to buy it. Last time I bought a chicken at Tesco it was 3.99 ready basted in a cooking tray. It can’t get much cheaper.

I don't buy any KFC or McDonalds either. It was only an example off the top of my head how it is not always possible to know where the food you buy is from, unless of course you always cook everything from scratch and never go to restaurants.Frankly serves you right for buying KFC. Or any mass produced fast food ****.
I was trying to work out when I last had a McDonalds. I give up having worked out it was over 20 years ago.

Likewise for me it's been a while, I've only been in to a muckDonalds to use the loo. What saddens me, is that some parents use it as a treat or worse a 'default meal'. It also sadder to see them open on Christmas day.Frankly serves you right for buying KFC. Or any mass produced fast food ****.

And the next stage is ad hominem.....
I bet you were the head of your debating society at School/ College/ University? Have you ever thought about a career in politics?
....and there it is. Again.....

It was an indirect compliment actually.I was rather hoping these were compliments. But I see now, that they were supposed to be insults.
I kind of saw it as a kind of compliment as well Mark. We could clearly benefit from someone like you in govt. Ever seriously though about it?
You have that never let it go debate until they wither style that would do really well in politics I would suggest. Whether you would be fired a few times no question but no different to any other politician. They always keep coming back and finding another role.
Thanks Dean and @Silvercat
Unfortunately there is little room in politics for real debate, and politicians are subjected to such abuse (and so poorly paid) that there is very little incentive to do it unless you have a real vocation or you are a nutcase. And before you go there....
I wish there was space for this kind of politics, but the press and the public just don't seem to value it.
