My mates Gran lived in Bridlington, that was where they imported Ladas. Every second car was one. A damp winters day in Brid probably wouldn’t look unfamiliar to a 1980s Russian.

I had a Lada back in the early eighties, (runs and hides) bought for £400 as a write off, only needed a new rear wing, mate and I did it for not very much, then about a year later I hit a hedge at night coming back from the pub, got written off and I got £1100 from the insurance co. #result.
