We was robbed! Shouldn’t have lost such an iconic aircraft. Totally blame the septic tanks for burying SS aircraft just because they couldn’t do it for passengers at the time.

guess we will have to hold on for hypersonic low orbital to become a reality. Anyone fancy London to Sidney in 2.5 hours?

Some Frenchie muppet engineer "aren't they all" who was jailed for years caused the accident in France on the Concorde take off from Paris
Bodging an early repair on a aircraft, part of it dropped off into the runway

When Concorde attempted to take off later in the day that part shot up and punctuated the fuel tank!
The rest is history!

Indeed but didn’t the flight engineer turn off one of the working engines so they couldn’t get back round and attempt an emergency landing?

Don’t think so, the fire damaged the flight controls.

Kegworth was where they turned off the good engine. Boeing has changed the air con feed from one side to the other on the latest 737 and don’t brirf the pilots. Although the fire warning was for the left engine the pilots “knew” that all 737s got air con air for the right engine so the warning must have been wrong when smoke entered the cabin.

If that does happen it'll be a service for the super rich.
I never had any ambition to fly on Concorde , I just think it's spectacular to see in the air and it's a national disgrace it's not flying today

I also think the UK should have an airworthy english electric lightning , I was lucky enough to see them fly in the 80s at quite a few airshows , they put on a fantastic show as a pair

Did some work on them when I spent two weeks at RAF Bimbrook as a cadet... even had a taxi run in one with the pilot... far better than a side by side ride in a Proverst.

I had a run out into the bay of Biscay and back at normal speeds in 1990..
Great day out for all of the family, my racing sponsor paid for everything!
