Eurotunnel is very well organised in that if you upload your negative test and locator form to their website in advance, then there are no manual checks at the terminal and it’s just passports as usual pre covid.

If not done, you get moved out of the queue at check in to a holding area, and no one else gets held up.

As many have said, it’s a pain and let’s hope once covid subsides the govt don’t keep it in place as a “security” measure like the “no liquids” in hand luggage on flights following that one attempted failed bomb attempt > 10 years ago.

Day 2 test done and sent off.

The covid admin was a pain in the crackers but we coped. The number of people turned back at Caen because they hadn't done the necessary was a nuisance because instead of sailing through (boom!) quickly they took up time and space. Must have been frustrating for them but it's not like the rules are hard if you bother to read up.
I think we did very well on the covid front, not only were we all double jabbed but we had the right paperwork (or on mobile devices!) , Tests in place for prior and post return, pax locator forms done . I did my test earlier and managed to post it in the local priority post box before last collection. The exmed one tests your gag reflex by swabbing your tonsils and now I know why Michael Gambon said what he said about 'giving up homosexuality'!
