Besides, look at the state of that road. You'd not want to go fast on French roads.
One knows one is in for an expensive pasting when the Gendarme outriders direct you and and pull up right outside the cashpoint at the nearest service station, and the guy had the audacity to ask me to lift the bonnet and ask combien de puissance ,Diving like loons, we were. On it, 110%.

My only saving grace was that litterally 1/4 of a mile before i had been hitting the 140's plus and had actually started slowing down to stop at the said service station for refuelling anyway , instead unfortunately I ended up refuelling their coffers to the tune of euros 340 aswell but could have been worse as they only did me for 110mphOne knows one is in for an expensive pasting when the Gendarme outriders direct you and and pull up right outside the cashpoint at the nearest service station, and the guy had the audacity to ask me to lift the bonnet and ask combien de puissance ,
You're a natural!Passenger: "Yes! Clear! Go, go, go!"
Beauty of most French rural roads is the lack of hedgerows which give so much greater vision for the overtaking manoeuvres , thats why the French drivers dont have half so many hemorrhoidal problems as Brits ,sore throat problemsYou're a natural!

That's pretty good value, Loz. I think this year only one intrepid traveller had a friendly chat with the gendarmes. It's because we drive respectfully and responsibly. Behind tractors. My only saving grace was that litterally 1/4 of a mile before i had been hitting the 140's plus and had actually started slowing down to stop at the said service station for refuelling anyway , instead unfortunately I ended up refuelling their coffers to the tune of euros 340 aswell but could have been worse as they only did me for 110mph
Where's the pleasure in that, thus surely defeats the point of owning such a thoroughbred , if one wants to pootle round all day long looking at the onlookers looking at you rest my case m'lud , you obviously haven't done your white van man trainingIt's because we drive respectfully and responsibly. You were definitely doing that when you passed meThat's pretty good value, Loz. I think this year only one intrepid traveller had a friendly chat with the gendarmes. It's because we drive respectfully and responsibly. Behind tractors.
I think I was caught in Zep’s slipstream at that point. Try as I might, I couldn’t break out of it. What you perhaps interpreted as a cheery wave was in fact a cry for help, for someone to save me from Zep’s reckless right foot. You were definitely doing that when you passed me
Gendarmes were out in force on the motorway to Calais - camera in the back of an unmarked Focus estate on the side of the road (thanks Waze) and people being pulled over at the next peage. There was quite a queue at the cash machine.
So you are a yobI think I was caught in Zep’s slipstream at that point. Try as I might, I couldn’t break out of it. What you perhaps interpreted as a cheery wave was in fact a cry for help, for someone to save me from Zep’s reckless right foot.
Interestingly, we didn’t see any gendarmes and even Waze didn’t comment on there being any around. Which is a bit of a worry as we had exactly the same destination as you!
No, I was following Zep. I needed to tell him that he was going too fast and should slow down so as to comply with the suggested speeds posted next to the roads. So you are a yob
Typical , the big kid made me do it officerNo, I was following Zep. I needed to tell him that he was going too fast and should slow down so as to comply with the suggested speeds posted next to the roads.
Annoyingly, no. Although to be fair, in that case the stropster was undertaken and overtaken at the same time.So no stroppy pharmacie/ambulance drivers to undertake this year?
You’d think they owned it!Annoyingly, no. Although to be fair, in that case the stropster was undertaken and overtaken at the same time.
It's his own fault for driving petulantly in the middle of the road.
AmenWe paid for them so they are ours to use.
To wrap this up this year was probably one of the best yet. The racing was epic and the company amazing.
Life seems just flat since being back
