Not having it - they've made them before, no problem, now unless someone is holding onto to 'secrets' there's no reason that if can can make one you can make 10,000 given the infra.

Cynical barsteward me!

Wild guess but they’re probably not made here or if they are, the parts come from the Far East. Making tooling up to form parts will probably take a while.

Yep, it figures:

As well as being completely aligned with the rising Midsummer Sun – and sitting upon a Ley Line – Milton Keynes is dominated by pyramid structures, monoliths, obelisks, standing stones and stone circles, the latter proving a magnet to local pagans and witches. Together with its plethora of sinister street art (masked figures, owls etc…), conspiracy theorists the world over have concluded that MK is a so–called ‘super hub’ of the shadowy Illuminati.

That's what they're doing!. They are manufacturing and assembling the same Ventilator which Smith's Medical normally make but applying rapid manufacturing techniques so that they can scale up the volumes and significantly compress the leadtimes. Which is why they should be delivering to the NHS this weekend many hundreds of units. Not bad from a standing start of just 3 weeks ago. The team (RR, GKN, McLaren F1, BAESystems, Smith's Medical, Meggit etc etc) have been working 24/7 to make this happen and will be continuing to accelerate the delivery of these units so that the NHS get what they need when they need it. The consortium have an order from UKG for 10 000 units to start off with. Hope this gives you confidence that things are really happening. NHS just need to sort out the PPE issues and quickly.

Guys another heart wrenching idiocy story just now , Garden centres .................just seen a few local stories of garden centre owners , plant growers that have obviously ploughed in x amount of capital time and effort to produce this years crop of plants etc Now saying they are going to have to dump ££££££s worth of plants and shrubs because they cant sell them , couple of guys were in tears due to the pending bancruptcy , surely they could either (a) be allowed to do what the supemakets do 2 or 4 at a time , or have an online delivey service ,

With X amount of thousands of people furloghed thus far and more to come just itching to get into the garden at the first signe of good weather , and it would help stave off bancuptcy and or public funds bailing them out , thee must be IT guys that could knock up a website in aday or two and must be many delivery drivers out there who could do with delivery work ..................................room for some furloghed workers thee guys

Agreed and there are companies that have hundreds of 3D printes for repetative work , its an ideal situation fo them
[/QUOTE

we got some visors from the royal mint in this week. NHS is chronically short of them. We are getting 200/ week printed and delivered.
estimates we will need 100,000 masks a month which is more tricky. No one can predict what will happen. This virus is literally phenomenal.

Loz......if you’re furloughed you aren’t allowed to work.....you’re not even supposed to log onto emails etc...however, a guy round here is setting up a plant group and they are doing plant boxes with 10 plants in....think my missus has ordered 5, so looks like I’ll be digging up more of our tiny lawn to fit 50 plants in....

I was thinking exactly the same. Surely there are some Web designers out there who could quickly pull together an online shop / portal for the wholesalers and garden centres to sell through? Like you say there will be a huge market for these plants in Spring and Summer so just need to figure out how to buy them and how to distribute them .People like Suttons have done exactly this and have been inundated with orders. Maybe this is something which one of the Dragons from Dragons Den could lead?

Being a proactive kind of chap I am, I have just sent Peter Jones ( from Dragons Den fame) an email via LinkedIn, to bring this opportunity to his attention and suggest how he might be able to help some of these small nurseries and garden centre businesses through the developement of a Web portal for them to use so people can buy their plants. Whether or not he would be interested I just don't know but if not him then he may know someone else who would be up for seeing what they could do. Worth a shot I think...
