Dem, agree it just didn't work well. My wife nearly bought a 156 sportswagon with selespeed but after the test drive she didn't...Not a nice box...The car that is.

i had 34k, bodywork excellent tan excellent engine was almost new, wheels not kerbed, i bought it the day i saw it for £2800 i basically stole it, kept for 3 years sold for £4500 this christmas

Selespeed on GTAs is different though, much less likely to go wrong. the one at Veloces was originally for sale for just over 10K privately by a member on AO, lovely car it is.

i had my gtv 8 months in with my maser ownership, i never got rid becaue of the gears in country roads

Bloody **** Dem £2800...You robbed the chap..That was very cheap back then.

i know, i saw it on auto trader at 11am by 12 i bought it, he had it up for 3k, he never knew the car well so had no idea how to sell it, i felt bad but i asked what the bets he can do is and he said £2800 so only a fool will say no its worth the 3k you want it, like i said that was my biggest regret i should have kept it

i think it is! It is not perfect it is a 9 year old italina car after all but all the important mechnical components have been replaced and all the electrics function.

I was quite set on the price when i advertised but for a member on here or the alfa owners i am willing to negotiate

BH....It does look a well sorted car with all right bits done..The only thing for me is I just don't want silver...Just a personal thing......As I said a few weeks ago on another thread it does look like a well sorted car.

totally understand. I never had a silver car before this but i have to safe they age very well and look very classy with black leather.

Would love to keep it, but with the GT and 2 x 159 i just can't.....plus i haven;t told the mrs i have bought the GT yet.........when she finds out i bought before i sold the gtv i will probably ending up sleeping in the GT!

The rear seats fold down in that so you could probably get a matress in there, no probs.

what do you think of the gt v6? i like it but not as nimble as the gtv am i right?

As the GTV is a smaller car it should be easier to place in a bend but that extra power in the GT must make a difference as well.

Hmm, seemed to have missed this thread until now!

I used to love my GTV but one word that never came to mind was nimble ...

Lovely engine note, esp with the custom dual pipes I had made for it. I once heard my brother driving it through a tunnel in Jersey, sounded like a wee Ferrari!

Its a while since I had mine but I seem to remember it handled pretty good,,,For a front driver that is....the 2.0l was better then the V6 for poise as it was lighter in the front...but as you say a mini Ferrari for sound.

well when i was never into alfas at about 21 years old and all i was driving was bmws i read an article that described the car as a mini ferrari, that was it fo me, every review had good things to say and owning it i agree with them, i had standard exhaust and the sound was unbelievable, it snorted like a pig on idle
