Well that will be an interesting partnership...Alonso and Kimi.....I think Kimi is faster than Alonso to be honest....Kimi in the right car will take on any of the current F1 drivers I believe..........Some sparks will fly on that team for the next two years I bet...

Can't wait!! :D Kimi won't stand for any of Alonso's theatrics. He'll either just deck him or take him out for a few drinks after quali', and we know only one person will emerge from a drinking session with Kimi.

That said I do think Alonso has driven the @rse out of the car he's had, for which he deserves respect. He made it look far better than it is.

Ultimately I think it will be a great (if difficult to manage) pairing for Ferrari.

Agree, very cool and a fantastic driver......It will be good for the sport both at Ferrari....I was thinking that its rare for anyone to get asked back to Ferrari...Is this a first.

Raikonnen is up there with the most exciting of F1 drivers. Though it will be good when Ferrari step up and have a truly competitive car again.

This really is a great crop of F1 drivers at the moment though - Raikonnen, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton - aggressive, great overtaking maneuvers and exciting to watch.

I think Berger was the first

Yup, Berger did it before in the early '90s.

He wrote about the experience. When he was first allowed into the car he was shocked to see it was three seconds off the pace. He just laughed. Three tenths you can work on but three seconds was just laughable.

I don't think Kimi will be up against such problems.

Bring it on, I can hardly wait.

You've got to remember though Kimi was no match for Massa in 2008/09..so It'll be interesting
To be honest Ferrari have gone downhill since Michael retired

Looking at Kimi now though he is one of the drivers that has real .... Still thin he would be one of the fastest on the grid with the right car...

Smacks to me of a strategic plan to kick Alonso out. I think he will make it one season then leave for Red Bull or retirement. If he had shut his mouth and not criticised Luca de Montezumalo, he might have got an average or unknown team mate like Vettel has for next year. He showed disrespect and he is being shown that nobody is bigger then Ferrari itself. Look at what happened to Joe Pesci in Goodfellas.

Thing is its a team game and getting the constructors championship is a big deal and worth a fortune so having to drivers that will finish at the top is important to teams these days...

I agree. I think it's a method of getting Vettel into Ferrari - is he not mates with Kimi?

At some point, Vettel will want to drive for Ferrari, but not with Alonso there.

As Vettel is a big mate of Schumi's he'll have told him everything he needs to know about the indepth workings of Ferrari!

Agree, but this is Kimi we are talking about and lets face it he is a racer and his only goal is to come first...
The problem is when the politics come out Kimi takes his toys away in a huff, hence his last year with FF.

Think this will be a great pairing, possibly with some fireworks.
Maybe Ferrari's thinking was to stop RB signing Kimi, Vettel and Kimi would make an awesome team and as Andy said constructors points/position is more important to the team.
Would be good to Massa still in F1 though.
Roll on 2014!
Cheers Blu
