I have not even collected my car and it has already been selected to be the Le Mans Taxi for 2014, makes a change to the upmarket Ford with two Mondeo V6s we took last year. We go each year with what used to be a group of Alfa owners but over the years has become a bit more wider ranging, Alfas, BMs, Porsches, Ferrari, Ford & Upmarket Ford were all represented last year.

Are you guys going again in 2014?

Le Mans planning session last night, seems about 20 in the group this year. Most of us going out on the Wednesday from various locations and making the mad dash back on the Sunday - it allows us contractors to minimise the number of non-paid days ;) . Some of the group go on the Thursday and come back on the Monday.

We will are doing the 9:50 tunnel out and probably the 20:50 tunnel back on the Sunday, assuming no major issues or too many fuel stops in the Spyder.

Ah you see we like to slum it and camp on circuit - it is all part of the atmosphere for us.

As my mate and I are poor IT Contractors we can't afford to have too many days off so make a mad dash after the race to hit the tunnel and get home hopefully before midnight on the Sunday allowing us to be in work for Monday so we will not be able to attend your after race BBQ but thanks for the invite.

Half the fun is the craic that goes on in the campsites

The bloke riding a go-ped stark naked with a sparkler stuck up his A*se sort of sets the standard :D

Ok, things have been a bit frantic what the La Butte house going nipples up.

I have just managed to secure a replacement:

Farmhouse in Disse-sous-le-Lude
Two Magnificent Farmhouses & Private Pool, Swim Jet & Cover Overlooking A Valley In The Loire Valley. A Calm And Tranquil Place, So Peaceful The Nightingales Can Be Heard But Close To All The Amenities. Sleeps 12 males (8 Bedrooms)

La Rosetta has old beams and roses by the kitchen window; Les Isabelle is more modern in style and has a granny apartment making the fourth bedroom with separate lounge and galley kitchen. Both houses have their own settings overlooking a valley. The houses are furnished with an eclectic combination of modern and antique furniture. The kitchens are modern and well equipped including fresh herbs & spices and have large comfortable lounges with satellite TV and WiFi. The houses have french windows that open onto private south facing terraces. Bedrooms are with a combination of double and twin beds and memory mattresses. There are five modern bathrooms with a combination of baths and showers upstairs and downstairs. Outside there are newly landscaped gardens and established walnut, fig and fruit trees and a lower terrace with an outdoor shower and an 11by5m swimming pool and swim jet with a telescopic cover so you can swim with the cover open or closed - swimming whatever the weather.

RATED ***** (5 stars)
This property is absolutely stunning! The finish is superb, making the best of the original features. Equipment level is fantastic, the owners have litterally thought of everything to make your holiday thoroughly enjoyable -books, games, a Table Tennis Table & even bikes. We booked the house for the whole family; 3 children, their wives/husbands/partners and our two grand children. Even with 10, the house still felt spacious and airy. Disse is a typical French village - you wonder if anyone actually lives there! Local towns have all that you need & Tours is probably no more than half an hour's drive. The house location is rural but beautiful - when the breeze is in the right direction you can hear the church clock chiming, and then nothing......... Perfect location to completely chill. The booking process was smooth & information levels excellant. The owners could not do enough for us. I cannot recommend this house strongly enough.

Amenities/Facilities:
Barbecue
Private Pool
Parking, Garden
Dishwasher
Fridge, Fridge/Freezer
Hob/Stove, Iron, Microwave
Oven, Tumble Dryer
Washing Machine.
Central Heating
Internet Access
Room Fans
Satellite TV

Le Lude town centre 5km/40mins walk along the river
Local bars and restaurant 5 mins walk
Arnage 20mins by car in a Maserati, 30 mins in all other inferior vehicles.

Borrocks. Looks ace. Would love to form part of the Le Mans Expeditionary Force but I'm there the previous week for the D-Day gig.

A weak excuse, Adam! I went for the first time last year and am a convert. Definitely going again this year, although I shall try not to give Pierre Plod any of my hard-earned this time.

Matt, i presume this is to replace La Butte and Pontvilain still booked?

Frank that is correct. We can move 4 up from PV to this new place as we have 12 place instead of 8.

I have to ask Mike, Nigel, Aron and Eric if they wish to move as they booked first, but they did express a wish to stay at PV but I'll check. I spoke to Benny tonight and he says that he is pairing with you but in 2 cars so there is a room for you at the new place if that is the case.

If Mike, Nigel, Aron and Eric do stay, the next 4 offered to move will be MAF, Tom, Nickp and James in that order.

The best part, and excuse me for blowin my own trumpet, but I have managed to acquire the farmhouse for £100 per head, for 5 night self catering, that's £20 a night for luxury!

On the downside Rosie has had to pull out so I am looking for a new partner.

Also we can now offer 4 more places to the forum, first come, first served.
