Meets and Geography ( Surrey Sussex )

Hi

Just a quick question. Correct me If I am not looking hard enough. I live on the Surrey, Sussex border and have noticed that most of the meets seem to be either in Kent, northern M25 and Ace area ! Are there any meets in Sussex? ( M23 corridor ) The ones I am aware of are the Brighton run in April 2012 and Goodwood events.

Your spot on Paul , no meets in surreyand sussex other than a goodwood trackday a few years back , there is the Brooklands Auto italia event in May where we tend to have a pretty good turn out around 20 odd cars from here and around 10-15 from the Maserati club, thats not to stop you arranging one in the future , altho i live in MK im a Worthing ite at heart and would be more than happy to travel down to one in that area

This forum is really all about member participation lets get in there and do it , you will be surprised as we have a few horsham and crawley members

Thanks. I am more than happy to drive to Kent and Middx areas for regular meets as the drive is half the fun. I do have a venue in mind in the Gatwick area. A good friend of ours owns the Aviation Museum. I will have a chat with him and see if we can time a Gatwick meet with his open days in 2012. He has had classics at the venue in the past but has no time to organise it, so perhaps there is a good opportunity for SM and also some promo for the Museum which is a charity.

Interesting, Airwick is about two hours from me in Dorset, so I'd be interested in that and the aviation museum too..

I am not far from you either - just inside M25, we had a bit of a convoy on the M25 September time
more than happy for a Gatwick meet and the aviation museum sounds interesting

Bit of a silly question but have any of you guys tried the new Hindhead tunnel? And if so what did it sound like?

If I had to come to Surrey I might take a detour through there...
It might be an idea to meet up nearby and all erm, admire the construction and the acoustics....

I used it when travelling to Mike Roberts for a service. Spoilt by the average speed cameras so very stop start to get any noise going - bit disappointing really.

****, foiled!, what's the speed through there? 40 would be useless but 50 could be sufficient if you slow to a crawl!
