What I like about it is that is has supercar looks at a more or less decent price. Lotus has always been the odd one out, an outlier, different from most other cars, somewhere between a track car and a sports car, spartan, light and usually with a small engine. So the sense of occasion is to some extent in the outside looks, but mostly in the (very sporty and hard) driving experience

I’ve just got back from my local Lotus dealer after accepting the invite to look at the Emira.
First impressions are that it’s a good looking car in the flesh. Even though it’s only a per-production prototype.

Sadly the seats were fixed so I couldn’t position them to my perfect driving position but was told that the seat would drop a couple of cms so getting a decent position shouldn’t be a problem.

So that’s about it. My only issue with the car is that for 75k, I wasn’t wowed one bit. Yes it’s nice. But nice doesn’t sell cars. (Not to me anyway). There was no sense of occasion about it.
Joseph said he didn’t like it and that I should buy a Maserati instead. I think he might be right.

I wouldn’t think many people looking at this Lotus would have a Maserati on the shopping list. Maserati do not make this type of car although Lotus may be in competition with Maserati with the new SUV they are making….Yes a Lotus SUV but think that is all electric.
