That is just Wonderful a proper bit of Engineering you just don't know how excited I get about Engines like that.
Could go in the other Birds thread for me :)
Phil, I think you might like the work an old school friend's father does. Still working at 87! He was the coolest father as he had a Lotus Cortina and a run of Alfasuds and rode a Honda 400/4 and a Yamaha RZ500. He took us to see Le Mans starring Steve McQueen too!

My Dad would have been 90 last month so the same generation as a boy I couldn't get enough of his Garage and the cars been obsessed with proper cars ever since and I was destined to be a mechanic.
The rest is history :)

You sometimes wonder if there is such a thing a 'Mechanic Gene' As to how some people have this ability to 'sense' what a car needs, or if something is wrong with it

This is certainly true with the garage I go to, Brian can say even before I get out of the car what my problem is!

My brother never had any training whatsoever would spend hours at his laith turning out bits for the steam trains he used to build, he was just a natural.

My brother has been invited to attend this tomorrow.
What an honour to see this beautiful ‘1954 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing’ on display @royalautomobileclub this week to commemorate the life of the great Sir Stirling Moss.

The Car was used by Sir Stirling in the build up to his famous Mille Miglia success in 1955. As well as being the Mercedes Show Car for the 1954 Paris Motor Show and the 1955 Olympia Motor Show. The car also competed with us in the 2012 Mille Miglia and featured at Pebble Beach Concours.

We had the great pleasure of fully restoring this historic car back to its original 1954 race specification. Sir Stirling very graciously came to our HQ when completed to be view and be reunited with his famous Car, which he was also more than happy to sign and to pose for some photos for us.

A true motorsport legend! Sir Stirling Moss RIP ❤️

With twin Webers?
I can remember the first Mini I had and I put a weber carb on it, I had to make a flat air filter for the carb so it would fit under the bonnet ,and used a brillo pad in the filter! Sheesh the daft things you used to do!
