I'll probably pop along. Will be in the Spyder if it's good weather, and the 3200 if it's raining!

Is that right, Nige- do you think you'll make it...?

That would be great!

News on the car is that the original belt pulleys are "not going back on" according to Phil as one has gone grotty (crikey!) and the parts ordered in replacement came in wrong- so they are waiting on bits. Could be (it'll have to be) mid week.

Taking the valve clearances question on advice- stethoscope analysis...

I'd love to hear how you got on Peter with "them"... mabey you could PM me...?

Hi Jim, got the note under my windscreen this evening...when I first saw it I thought it was going to be a message saying someone had driven into it or something! Anyway, sorry I missed you - I was accross at the tennis courts in the Meadows, attempting to play one of my worst sports.

Ha!

no problem Nigel... it was a lovely night though- I'm sure it was nice just to be out?

I came back out of VH and thought; "hang on, that wasn't there a minute ago!" and vaguely remembering your plate the penny dropped!

That day turned out to be the most active Maser day of my life so far as it happens!

I spent a couple of hours down at M&P in the afternoon, one of them talking to Peter, and then got a lift back into town in Peter's GT (which is just about the tightest car I've ever been in) and then when I got back I discovered a guy on "the other side" had just joined and posted a query looking for info on a Ghibli he'd owned 13 years ago- which I actually have pictures of! Then I went out for a coffee and almost saw you!

How much more Trident activity can you pack into a day!?

JimP

I think I'm going to go tomorrow after all...

ha!

yes- well I more than know about it- I've got a couple of videos of it running when it was for sale in Edinburgh in '06 and I've got the chassis plate (now it's written off) too!

Right well- the Scottish Italian Car Day is done for another year- I missed last year for various reasons and having just had the Cup sorted, I intended to make this year by very least as way of a shakedown run before Stanford next weekend.
Gathered footage for this may not be to everyone's taste, but I can only document as I see interest myself and like to pride myself in reducing a mass of potential footage down to notable details. However, despite being a relatively accomplished mobile-phone photographer, the high wind has "adjusted" a few of these images to be slightly off centre and for that I can only apologise. Likewise with the interior rear 4200 shot which has suffered due to light, but I have chosen to leave in as it is the only document of an interior of note.

(I'd like to think anybody familiar with my footage from Hopetoun House last year, as seen on another forum, will forgive the general standard of these images!)

Rather a small turnout on the Trident front; Just myself and a lovely chap called Stuart Martin from Aberdeen. Stuart had just sourced an '05 4200 Coupe a fortnight previously from a garage in Nairn- the former owner, a pilot having specced the car with a fetching two-tone interior.

Hmm.. perhaps there's a knack to "managing attachments" -I went to some lengths to upload these in order and I think they have been selected alphabetically and are all jumbled up! Oh well- do your best! Categories would be "going there", "the general turnout", "details" and "specific cars", "our family presence" and "the way back". However that's all mixed up!!

thanks for all that positive feedback gentlemen!

I did, very much, direct him towards our little group actually Parisien. He said he'd come across the "other side" recently but I pointed out (as a recent convert myself) that the real action was going to be here. I'm hoping we'll see him within days...

I came back from that and felt all motivated to sort a few things out; got the Autosol and a polishing pad in a dremel and did both my badges, emptied an entire tin of waxoyl into my hollow bonnet-nose section, took off all my wheels and cleaned and waxed them internally (the outers and trashed so it's a half victory), applied rubber restorer to what I could rear on my driveshaft/diff boots and gaitors and all reachable brake lines, hoovered the car out, applied more rubber restorer to the door seals and removed the lower front grille to repair a broken slat that has been damaged for the nine years I've had the car.

3 hours the lot.

I found something next to the headlight on the drivers side under the bonnet that I think might belong to M&P!!

Need to order some oil, get some glass polish and a new driver's wiperblade for next weekend...

P.S. yes the Lancia stuff is WILD isn't it??
