SM trips 2013

Chaps, i was going through past threads and realised that there are people interested in making the factory tour in spring 2013 and people wanting to make a 2014 trip for the 100 years.
There are also people going to the LeMans.

I would suggest a possible visit to the Geneva Motor show and a road trip to an F1 race (could be Monaco, Belgium or Germany). The F1 race could be a non-road trip as well, as we could also fly to Dubai .

What are your thouhgts? Road trip in 2013, 2014 or F1 trip?

I'm going to save the pennies, and all going well will hope, and aim for, 2014, not flush enough for one a year

I think due to the centenary in 2014 and people expressing a desire to do the factory trip then, that we postpone the 2013 trip for 12 months.

Le Mans thread is back in full swing and we now have a reserve list. We have Loz's gite too so I need to check with him for availability.

F1 is a nice idea probably not for me but Geneva is doable, what month is it?

I will still be doing my Euro Passes trip anyway as I put it off from last year.

I think Geneva will have Kubang and new QP.

Agree on 2014 tour, but would be up for an F1 weekend. Never been to Belgium yet

Spa is a fantastic circuit would be bang up for that.

I'll not do Le Mans in 2013, but the classic and a centenary run to Italy are certainly on the cards for 2014. In the meantime I'd also definitely be up for Spa. It's a track I've promised myself I'll drive at some point.

We could be up for some sort of trip, but we have to watch the funds, as we are planning to do the Rio Carnival, then on to Cuba in the early part of next year. Will try and watch plans and see where we can fit in..!!

Yes but still in planning stage, hopefully we will get it sorted shortly. I have a friend in New York who also wants me to go and visit him, but it's time and funds that are important factors. I still have to run my business whilst having fun..!!

Hi Nikos, no if we do arrange a Spa trip for 2013 I'd drive over and take my Maser on track. If there's enough interest I'm happy to organise it?

Geneve to Belgium is 750kms.. But the Motor show is early April = not too much interested in driving under ice.

So, the other solution is a road trip to Belgium combining it with the Passes that fcz suggested? But for me it should be early summer.

Spa has driver open days on the 30th March, 5th May, 30th June and 2nd August.

4 x 25 minute sessions throughout the day for €235 with additional sessions at €60 each.

A bit of Spa, yes please!

I had a look at doing the Spa Classic 2013, but to drive it would be way better in my eyes!

So, lets discuss further a little trip then!

Oh yes Miles I am liking the sound of that!

For me, later in the year is better as spring is always chaotic. I'd be up for August.

Also, speaking to the guys on Saturday at the SM meet, everyone seems bang up for a summer BBQ, similar to the Xmas party, pub lunch, drive, BBQ, pub then hotel.
