Gents, in November or December i am going on a small trip 3-4 day trip. So if i was to come to UK, i would prefer the 8th, cause i'll have the chance to watch a concert in York. Would be nice if we could combine it!

Two beers for anyone who will vote for the 8th!!! hahaha
For the sake of 2 beers, I'll vote for the 8th.

Just for Nikos. For me, I'm afraid I cant make any early Dec dates - MrsWoody due to hatch around then so best show willing and stay close to home, sober.

Apologies to all for taking so long to get on to this....

Right, here goes. The prognosis so far...

It's a Midlands meet this time around.

Karting location is to be confirmed, but these are looking like good options (thanks to Frank for his recommendations)...

http://www.teamworkskarting.com/birmingham/
http://f1k.co.uk/birmingham/track-info/

I'll look into these and other options and come back to you in due course...

Thanks to Parisiens efforts La Scala is looking good for the evening meal.

P, Are you happy to follow this one through for a while based on the numbers below?...

Thanks to the two Rob's we have a couple of choices for accommodation.
Moor Hall Hotel.
Hilton Hotels.

The Moor Hall is closer I think? but Rob, you've been to our Christmas bashes before. We tend to go on late and get very drunk. Don't want to put you in a difficult situation if the owners are friends.

Rob, I guess this is not an issue with the Hilton?, but the same hold true, the late night session is very much part of the night. Is this okay given you have a preference deal with them? Don't want to put you in a difficult situation.

So the list of those showing interest and their date preferences...

1. Emtee / Miles and Linda - 1st or 8th.
2. Parisien / Frank and Bernie- 1st or 8th.
3. Maser Sod / Pat (and Brenda?) -
4. Conaero / Matt (and Bro?) - 1st or 8th.
5. Mr Cambio / Nikos - 8th.
6. Granturismo_Dan / Dan (and Louise?) - 8th.
7. SimonM / Si - 1st, 8th or 15th.
8. Lozcb / Loz and Kaz - 1st or 8th.
9. Safrane / Peter -
10. 2b1ask1 / Newton (and Jeanette?) - 1st or 8th.
11. Dhanj / Dhanj -
12. Dem Maser / Dem (and Christina?) - 1st or 8th.
13. Reservoirfrog / Rob and Ros - 1st, 8th or 15th.
14. fcz360 / Frank (+1?) -
15. chippiepilot / Andrew -
16. DaveT / Dave (and Linda?) -
17. Cobratwin / (+1?) - 1st or 8th.
18. Jamesc69 / James (and Vicky?) - 1st, 8th or 15th.
19. Grinzzz / Andy (and Mrs G?) -
20. NickP / Nick and (Becky?) -
21. Hodroyd / Robert and Glenis -
22. Mark Taylor / Mark -

So a potential gathering of between 29 and 38! That's a great number and thanks to all for showing interest in getting together for a Festive session! :D

If there's a question mark, it's because I don't know whether you're bringing your partner or brother in Matt's case.
If I haven't put a date preference it's because I don't think you posted one.

Looking through the preferences I think we can settle on the 8th / 9th December.

So I'll look at the karting options.
P, if you could let me know about the restaurant? If you want me to pile in, then please just say so.
Rob and Rob, let me know your thoughts on my comments above? If you then want me to take over for booking the hotel, just let me know.

Regards to all, Miles.

The rate seems reasonable Rob. Is that a deal rate given the number of rooms?

Look good from the web site, though I suspect we could fill that bar ourselves.

Only a couple of miles from the restaurant, so couldn't ask for anything more local.

Sorry guys, just reading back through the thread and many of you have given your preference as to the date, but not necessarily the location. I should have asked you to mention this at the same time, so apologies.

The two Franks and the two Robs have come up with great looking suggestions for a West Midlands meet. Is everyone happy with this? It's important the location should be as convenient as possible for those who have shown an interest in attending.

I've posted the list again below. Would you add on your preferred location(s)? Can I suggest we keep the options to...

1. London / South M25.
2. London / North M25 (sort of around where we've been previous years)
3. West Midlands.
4. Somewhere between 2 and 3.

Could you also post whether the location, if not the most local to you, would mean you wouldn't be able to attend?

1. Emtee / Miles and Linda - 1st or 8th. Location 1,2,3 or 4 with no objections to any.
2. Parisien / Frank and Bernie- 1st or 8th.
3. Maser Sod / Pat (and Brenda?) -
4. Conaero / Matt (and Bro?) - 1st or 8th.
5. Mr Cambio / Nikos - 8th.
6. Granturismo_Dan / Dan (and Louise?) - 8th.
7. SimonM / Si - 1st, 8th or 15th.
8. Lozcb / Loz and Kaz - 1st or 8th.
9. Safrane / Peter -
10. 2b1ask1 / Newton (and Jeanette?) - 1st or 8th.
11. Dhanj / Dhanj -
12. Dem Maser / Dem (and Christina?) - 1st or 8th.
13. Reservoirfrog / Rob and Ros - 1st, 8th or 15th.
14. fcz360 / Frank (+1?) -
15. chippiepilot / Andrew -
16. DaveT / Dave (and Linda?) -
17. Cobratwin / (+1?) - 1st or 8th.
18. Jamesc69 / James (and Vicky?) - 1st, 8th or 15th.
19. Grinzzz / Andy (and Mrs G?) -
20. NickP / Nick and (Becky?) -
21. Hodroyd / Robert and Glenis -
22. Mark Taylor / Mark -

Thanks, Miles.

My suggestion is...................... The Sharnbrook Hotel for dinner, and xmas nights entertainment, Motorised Karting at Milton Keynes , i may be able to lay on a tour of the Red Bull facilities before we head to the Hotel ,

Ciro the owner is Italian , and a fierce petrol head with a few beauties himself , holds several very successfullcar days throughout the year

I know im biased but i reckon you cant get more central than MK , thats the reason all the main distribution centres are based here

regards loz

The date is fine the 9th, but if I am honest, there was a few people who approached me yesterday at the SM meet and expressed objection to the location.

Ok, your not going to please everyone, and I sort of agree with Loz about MK. I dont have an exception to driving to the location if its worth it.

The key issues for the Xmas doo:
Quality Karting, indoor (December) and most definitely petrol, not electric.
A motor related activity for the afternoon (Ace Cafe substitue)
Quality boutique Hotel with a bar that opens late and wont break the bank
Quality restaurant, Italian appears to be the correct type.

For me, the Hotel is very important as if this is not glossy it will bring the special feel of the night down.

we are getting very short on time to still be deciding where and when. venues are quickly filling up with company christmas do's. so we may find ourselves camping and going to the chippy.
can I suggest that the moderators dicide where and when, and hope that as many people as possible will attend what is the best sports maserati meet of the year.

can I also sugest that we appoint a couple of guys early in the year who can organise that years bash from an early start. that way its not a mad rush, plenty of choices to look at , discuss and book.
