SuperCarDriver Club meet at amari Supercars near Preston (12 noon 22nd Jan 2011)

I thought the following open meet organised by the Supercar driver club might be of interested to any North West based forum members.
It would great to see some more Maseratis. It looks like I may be the lone Maserati !!

Extract
"One of our partners Amari/D1 Ultimate GT, have invited us to the opening day for their new Supercar Service Center -Sevice Amari. As part of your member benefit you are eligible to a 10% discount on servicing.

To celebrate this launch they will have a number of special cars on display including Amari's personal Ferrari Enzo and a Koenigsegg, plus the other 30 supercars they have for sale in their showroom: http://www.amarisupercars.com/

I wanted to suggest that we take a drive over there in convoy and spend the morning taking in the visual delights that the showroom has to offer. Drinks and snacks will be available also."

Amari are located at junction 31a off the M6. Following the signs for Longridge you will take the first left from the roundabout and drive under the bridge to the second roundabout. From there you will take the 3rd exit following signs to Longridge.

You will then come to a VW Commercials Van garage on the right, take that turn and follow the road round to the left and you will see Wyder Honda. Amari are located to the right."

The guys are expecting us at approx 12 noon.

Looks a good day out and great chance to view an Enzo and Veyron !!

My parents live just down the road in birkdale but wont be around this weekend unfortunately. Shame as Phil on the forum here works on the same estate and would have been good to catch up!

Hi James,

Thanks for the heads-up. If I can, I will bring my spyder to boost the (sports)Maser numbers. Unless anything changes, in which case I will let you know, I will see you and possibly Lee at Amari.

James is this a turn up event, or do we need to let them know numbers, as the Porsche Club Forum are also posting re this so may get busy.

Just a thought...Looks like I may be able to make it, final decision this afternoon.

You going upo the A59 as i think that would be my route to stay off the motorway.

An Ok day. 4 Masers and some other nice cars. Assorted Astons, Ferraris and Lambos and the threat of a Veyron which might have rocked up after we left. A good run back and the highlight of the day was busting the Wallasey tunnel with straight through pipes. Awesome; the clarion call of the damned! Another fine day overall. Thanks guys.

Amari's showroom looks amazing, it is a shame they have a mixed reputation. Pistonheads will tell you all about Amari.

I don't quite get the matt colour thing going on with the SLS and the Lambo. A bit too faddy for me. And the yellow interior in the matt black one was like finger nails down a blackboard while the black interior and exterior on the other Lambo made it look, and feel, like the black hole of Calcutta. However, it was good to see a Diablo again even though two of the fog lights were half full of water! Minor details apart, I reckon it would look really good in my garage next to a real Italian sports car!
