Veteran Car Run

Went down to Staplefield in Sussex today with a couple of friends to see the Veteran Cars on their annual London to Brighton run. Last time I did that I was about 10 and I remember the crowds which used to gather in Croydon to see them but on the way down hardly saw anyone waiting. Then near Staplefield we passed a Caterham 7 gathering of at least 40 cars then arrived at the pub we were basing ourselves at to see it taken over by the Morgan Club - the pub across the green was hosting the MG club. By the time the cars started coming past there must have been a couple of thousand people spread around the village with most of them in 'specialist' cars of some sort - it was like a complete history of the motor vehicle!

I've included some of my favourites below, the Aero 8 was stunning as was the Ronart. Only saw one Masser - no idea what it is - someone will enlighten me I am sure. It was a great morning complete with cooked breakfast and the obligatory breakdown soon sorted by the female mechanic!

I have absolutely no idea what that Maserati is? I'd have gone with 450S if it weren't for the 'stub nose'? Flummoxed. :-(
