Hey Phil! Yes we are 29 km outside Poitiers.@Bebs We also have rain here near Blois. I discovered that you must be between Descartes and Richelieu (160 km south of Le Mans) . It is a fairly dry place in the summer. Fortunately there are some wines!
Bebs. Do you ever go to your local wine producers cooperative, with empty plastic drinks containers and fill up with whatevers decent?Hey Phil! Yes we are 29 km outside Poitiers.
As you say, pretty dry these days. It’s actually pleasant when we have a downpour! Have discovered several excellent local wine producers and turned up in my van several times filling up.

Yes, my local producer has plastic drinks containers, and the people around do pop by for a btl, or a container. Awesome wine for very little outlay.Bebs. Do you ever go to your local wine producers cooperative, with empty plastic drinks containers and fill up with whatevers decent?
I discovered this practice a few years back, when I was living in Provence. Perfectly drinkable appellations for a few euros a litre!
Turned a happy camper into a very merry camper indeed!
