Doesn't do it for me though the 4200 at all. Mike even said the build quality was better on the 3200! :D

Mike who..?? The build quality after Ferrari took over was a lot better and that took in the very late 3200's and all those after about 2001/2..!! If Mike can't resolve the issues, take it somewhere else..!!

The 4200 was actually built to a price by Maserati so is lower quality - things like the 3200 being one piece panel from the rear quarter, over the roof, down to the front wing, round the front and back round to the other rear quarter (done with hidden welds and hand finishing....looks fantastic but too expensive, hence the 4200 wings are bolt on instead). Same with the interior - absolutely everything in the 3200 is leather, but the 4200 has quite a lot of fake leather-look stuff).

Probably a reason why so many were written off; too expensive to repair. Also the ungainly crease across the nose where the front bumper meets the metalwork, IMO, spoils the fluency of the front end design.

The thing is that if it wasn't for the 3200 then there would be no 4200 so you can't exactly hate it Benny!

Yes that joint across the front is a pain in the "£$, they clearly learned from their mistakes with the 4200. I actually had a body shop alter the shape of the front of my 3200 a little while i was getting the paintwork tidied up so the front looked more like a 4200 and its very subtle but improved that disjointed feeling you get from that bumper joint.
I still like my 3200 and not ready to move up to a newer car, my 3200 has .... well some thing! I have looked at 4200's and QP's and even the new coupe and the new ones are so big! and still for me the 4200 has those back lights, and the turbos, i would miss the turbos. Its not a rational thing a 3200 it does not make any sense in any world. I love it!

This may come as a surprise, but I don't hate the 3200! They were, and still can be, great cars. It has a certain something, especially the styling and when coming on boost, that will never go out of fashion. These days however, the electronics/ mechanics seem to be getting a little frail and prone to throwing the odd tantrum. The best bit though is their doting owners rising to nearly every piece of bait thrown at them especially when thrown by a whippersnapper 4200 owner. This 'sport' never gets old and is good for the soul so long may it continue!

I think that is a good question and one reason why Ferrari dropped the Biturbo as they wanted to distance themselves from the biturbo era and reputation!
