I like cars and I don't mind diesel engines in the right car but putting diesel in a Ghibli or say a Panamera is just plain wrong. The appeal of executive cars and sports cars is the wafting great big petrol V8 or bigger!

Always buy a big petrol engine when the car is older.....they cheaper.....

Looked at 645 a year ago and its so much cheaper than the 630d....when new it was 15k more!!

Alfa had to....they are not a prestige car maker, a car maker with a great history and following but needed to hit at the golf and polo sales.....

I love my big diseasel. It's a totally different in its power delivery (and economy) but not far off as fast as my spyder and it can carry 4 adults and their bags in comfort. Fantastic.

Diesel for a daily is alright....if i get the monthly budget i want to go out and buy a company car im looking at diesels.....

I find that interesting because even though diesels are torquey they are not even in the same breath as some sportscars. Yes on the motorway they make kepp up until a ton but on the right twisties they will be left for dead.

A mate of mine thought hs 535d Touring was the benchmark for fast estate until I too him out in my M5 touring and then he really changed his mind. There was no comparison.

I do like the lazy driving on long jurneys but they are dull to drive with their limited torque curve.
