This was up 3-6 months ago.

Could be a lovely car for someone eventually.

The first one is just perfect to tempt me back into a full restoration project... I can picture that ambling along the Riviera wind parting what's left of the hair!

Reallity check _ I just cannot find the time to do my present list of tasks; mabe in a few years I can back off a bit and take on one like this....

Tempting prospect Frank, I'm likely to inherit my father's workshop sooner than I would like :( but it is my intention to fine myself an industrial unit to house it in as I cannot get 3 phase at home and it would take up the garage space totally. A unit would potentially provide me with the space to undetake a long term ground up restoration again. Mind you my middle lad is 16 and anxious to restore an early fiat 500 so I already have a target in mind!

At 87 he has several underlying problems and is on a declining slope sadly Frank, perpaired for the innevitable some day though.

As far as why do a small car like the 500? A good question but my take is this:

It is a sound body design and every part is available, people will accept 'modification' without a sharp intake of breath and I'm all for giving it modern brakes, suspension, gearbox and engine etc. I'm not fussed about a Fiat 500 being authentic and concours. Mostly though it is because I'd be doing it with the lad and to please his and my asbergic tendencies results can be achieved quickly and affordably... Also it is cheap enough for him to insure!
