What a cracking day it turned out to be, Ist big surprise was the GTS outside the karting what a mint stunner, pleased for you Matty played close to your chest brill , Karting was excellent fun, bruised backs for everyone but i'd do it again in an inst , blew a kart up with smoke everywhere oops , big cheers for the winners Matt and Co , tyre kicking and chat was brilliant at Ace , a big thanks for Andy250F for bringing the beauty down for all to see , to watch it drive off well............... just awesome music , no other words for it ,

Nicely finished off the day with the meal in the restaurant ,Urby good company as usual jumping up to the plate ( got to hug me Buddy) then the all too familiar pony tail of Frank with Bernie great to see you guys once again,

Special thanks goes to Enz , you old softy of a gent you , very much appreciated mate, thanks awfully

Unfortunately and what is becoming all to frequent , after a lovely meal and a few drinks me and Kaz no longer seem to be able to hack the pace, so apologies for crashing out earlier than most , but am happy to the younger crowd doing what they do best , and they did by the sounds of the previous posts
Having risen reasonably early and after a hearty breakfast said a few goodbyes to those that were about and sloped off home , not sure who was up or about but thanks all for coming we really enjoyed the whole experience

My plastic pigeon flew off first thing this morning in the hotel. When she came back she seemed to be amused about something. She wouldn't say where she had been or what she had been doing. I don't suppose there were any sightings were there?

A fabulous supprise to hear that beast arrive at the karting yesterday, but even bigger supprise to see Matt grinning from ear to ear behind the wheel!!!

Congratulations Matt, a real beauty just got to get you on the Monaco run now!

A very good day out indeed!
We've just arrived home and to be honest, I still don't feel very well. Parts of the evening are a bit of a blur, particularly towards the end. Reading that Matt had to go and retrieve his bible this morning made me chuckle, I'd forgotten about that :)

Matt, superb car my friend! I thouroughly enjoyed following you to the hotel, great noise. And as we were discussing in the early hours of this morning, we need to meet up when my car is back on the road for a bit experimentation to find out if the DMS treatment really does make a difference.

....oh and apologies for consuming to content of your minibar :D

Urghhhh, I have just got out of bed, severely damaged today.

A fantastic day and night guys and thank you one and all for your efforts to make this forum what it is.

Big thank you to my karting team mate, Chippiepilot, nice driving mate!

Ben, nice to meet you at Ace, get those Larinis on order!

Miles, for making the day run smooth and the real hero of the day

Andy, what can I say, that is one stunner you have there!

The lads, Dem, Dan and Simon for making feel really **** today and the £77 room extras bill.

Loz, Kaz and Urby plus Frank, Bernie, Nick, Paul, Enz and all the others that made a very special day.

Can I just add to the list of thank you posts......

As ever the organiser and doer doesn't always get the very fulsome praise he deserves.....so a big thank you to Miles and the truly delightful Linda who were the consumate couple for the nights activities.

Secondly to all the mob there present whose good natures and sense of fun made the evening a truly memorable one.

Loz and Kaz, thanks for the parcel, Dan, thanks for not slapping me when I failed to recognise the new you, Pat for confusing you with Andy when you were pointed out from afar as the 250F re-creator, the real Andy himself for actually making the re-creation happen...that torch light guide of the contents of your trailer was like going into Aladdins cave; lovely to meet Dem and Christina who was blossoming by the hour as she nears delivery time ( on my birthday BTW....don't tell DEM!), Paul and Carole and their alter ego.....the B****Y pigeon, NickP, Simon and the partners with whom I didn't have as much time to interact with during the evening.

Oh, and last but not least Matt.......what can we all say.........with out Matts fortitude and hands on nature, we'd all be posting on the Maserati sections of the Alfa and FIAT forums!!!!

P

Ps Don't worry.......I haven't forgotten the man not noted above.

Thanks so much for making this such a memorable event! From being served by "the Hood" from Thunderbirds (it was not Stingray...) to having the fine art of cornering explained with a roast parsnip around a spoon (I really should take some track lessons) was just the start of a great craic. Being given a dark condensed Pernod like drink which I only dared sip was a totally new drinking experience! Shame about the disco tho' ;-)

Thanks again to everyone (esp. the organizers) for making a newbie so welcome,
Aeros
