Gutted Just rang Copart to book a physical viewing ...........only to be told they dont do physical viewings anymore because of health and safety bolllox, they expect you to buy a damaged vehicle by virtual viewing by whatsapp call .........operated by one of there staff ..................whose main interest is to sell their cars ..........so an unbiased view i dont think , many horror stories even with there old system of hidden expensive parts being removed before the new purchaser has the car delivered , had that with the Bentley some unscrupulous person removed the boot motor which is well hidden behind one of the batteries in the rear wings .........hens teeth to get hold of and just a mere £1500 , no way will I buy that blind .....which is what they are asking you to do

An expensive thing to get wrong. I think you made a wise decision.

Yeah puts the purchaser at a total disadvantage ............reliant totally on there honesty .................and to date if you read their reviews it doesnt bode well with the numerous complaints thus far , wouldnt be so bad if they offered ....( even for a price a copy of the insurance report )

Start a YouTube channel, they'll let you view then. Health and safety drives me nuts.
Something thousands of people have been doing quite successfully for donkeys years with Breakers yards all over UK and probably Europe and the US , seems since Copart has taken over and just expanded by buying out all the UK breakers yards to enable monopoly of the market they have endeavoured bit by bit to transfer all the advantages onto there side , whilst in the short term this may raise profits , I dont think long term the cars will sell in volume like they used to , guys like me which there are many will drift away when the disadvantages are so great with the more costly higher end cars

Trouble is I know me :gamer: , for the last 48hrs ive located all the parts I can assume based on previous experience are needed, all for reasonable prices , and already started driving the car in my head ( fatal I know ) but thats me .............so my only escape is to make sure im no where near a computer on Monday ................otherwise i will be tempted to buy it blind , its already at the price i would like to buy it for and I would probably go a bit more ........but not as much had I viewed it physically and been as best as damm it 99% sure of whats needed

If its just the top front panel , and its lower counter part, and Bumper/grill under re-enforcing bar then it could be a result in the ,making ..................i'll take the weekend to convince or unconvince myself ..............all thoughts appreciated

Having watched many rebuild videos on YouTube, you don't know how much is hiding underneath, auction companies seem to tend to throw the car back together for photos etc leading buyers to believe there is less damage than there actually is.

I believe in the USA they can reject a car from copart if its not described (under certain circumstances).

Do we have any such protections?

There appears to potentially be very little damage in this cars case...

Looking at that front end shot, I'd be shocked if there were to be frame damage or anything structural, but I'm only an enthusiastic observer / petrolhead. I have zero experience of accident repairs.

No airbags have gone off, indicating there might not have been much energy involved.

Could well be worth a punt IMHO

Its been off road for a jaunt thats for sure , all wheels look from the pictures to be in exactly the right positions , but this is a slight worry , not the cill itself , that repair is easy enough , but its what other damage if any underneath even from this picture you can see it hasnt affected the door gap or closure

As you say its not what you can see but what you can't, I suspect the bidding will be strong on this one

The thing that also worries me is how the Salvage Yards move everything around with Fork Lifts which could damage a few things.
Still could be a Good project though.

Will you be disappointed when the hammer drops and its not yours?

Obviously don't blow your budget, but the fact you're sat there watching says everything....

Yellow calipers will set it off nicely

Agree, post a good repair what value would it have anyway, not more than 40- 45k guessing. And a good repair surely would set you back at least 10k+ unless you are ratarosa do nothing else than repairing ferraris from your shed!
