Apologies for the lack of response yesterday guys , had a childish tantrum , after a cracking day at Emblem taking into account weather ups and downs , was knacked then had to earn some more brownie points on the Sunday , as i was supposedly off to the Williams factory tour Curtasy of Safrane , 7am this morning cars all frosted ,readied and warmed Kaz's car and defrosted, warmed the GS up , turned on the heater after 5 mins at idle heard a loud crack then noticed a 4" crack down the windscreen Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr , my worst nightmare NO No No not Autoglass again

So there i was 8.30 making my apologies to Peter and then on the Phone to Royal Sun Aliance / Aplan obviously i want to avoid Autoglass like the plague in fact after last time i'd rather have a dose of the plague to be honest anyway turns out i can choose anybody Hoo Bloody ray i thought untill the Insurance guy turns round and says but i have to pay up front then claim back from the insurance company and that can take up to 10/12 weeks kinell this cant be right surely i reckon there just telling me there system rules surely they cant enforce that as a legal requirement ..... any legal bods outhere

able to put me straight

regards loz

Loz you poor sod........windscreen broken. I just spoke to HR Owen. They said if you want to give it to them, they will get original screen in from Italy, lend you a courtesy car and bill your insurance company. You are entitled to have the work done by Maserati. If you want to talk to him telephone Tony 0208 978 3600. They did a fantastic job on mine

Dear goodness, Loz, you are having no luck at all on the glass front (never mind neds scratching the motor and bubbling paint). Really, really, feel for you.

Hope you get it sorted with minimal pain.

Bummer!!! I would take it main dealer if I were you, then you know the guys they use will have fitted hundreds, and the main dealer wont take any cr@p!

Agreed. Loz, you've had your fingers burnt by Autofarce before. Given the £800+ bill last time I would imagine the insurance company might be quick to let you take it to a professional!

Sorry to hear your woes Loz. What a bummer. Hope main dealer route proves successful. I thought there was a clause of simply paying the exess for a windscreen (c £100 forme I think).
Re Emblem trip we really enjoyed it despite the weather. Nice to see Grahams late concours winning 3200 alongside mine and I am getting a "thing" about QPs too (nice Paul).
I took some low grade video at Emblem so will get onto utube soon and post link.
Roll on next meet!
