It's a lovely idea, but sadly I rather doubt it will change what people think. The concept of 'other' is in our genes.

I feel the initial terror of OMG we're all going to die has well passed now, people appear to be going about their daily lives as if nothing has happened

The new supermarket rule seems to be if you want something just invade the 2m space apologising as you do it with a sorry.

Now they're saying this could've been in China as early as July 19 after analysing hospital car park satellite pictures and internet searches for symptoms I'm pretty certain I had it in january.

As cold and flu transmission seems to increase in the winter let's hope that we don't get a second lockdown , being stuck in for weeks in november sounds expensive on the gas bill and boring .

Now is the time we will really start to understand if we have this under control as we move back to normality. Pretty sure some patterns of life will have changed but I suspect not for long.

Whatever happens will be driven by the multinationals' marketing departments

But JC would have with reasonable certainly have put people over profit.

I know I'll get flamed for that but Bungle from Rainbow would have done a better job than Boris and his retinue with, well everything so far.

Good. So what would you (or indeed JC) have done to put people over profit? Specifics.

Basically followed the NZ plan. Ensure people would be paid for the entire period of lockdown, all mortgage, credit card, loan payments frozen, VAT/CT payments frozen, all business reporting frozen, public transport stopped. Stay at home as much as possible. More NHS investment in ventilators, PPE, etc whatever the cost which has been a shambles so far. Close the borders completely, no one in, no one out from day one.

Massive dent in the economy for sure but we have that now due to Government dilly-dallying and if these measures had been introduced in the onset the dent may well have been less. In any case it doesn't matter, All Lives Matter.

Postpone Brexit, not let any US chlorinated chicken in which seems to passed by everyone, we're getting it.

Whole country on freeze until September or even Xmas if any doubt.

What's wrong with that?

Massive dent in the economy for sure

And what's the impact on tax payers for that? i.e. the same people that are being helped?

So no actual evidence then?

US chlorinated chicken in which seems to passed by everyone, we're getting it.

So, don't buy it <shrug> your choice

What's wrong with that?

Nothing at all. But to state that it's incontrovertibly better than what was done shows a distinct lack of understanding of proof, logic and science.

You can quite happily state that by some measures the outcome in NZ is / was better. By other measures it's probably the same or worse. However to ignore the confounding factors going to cause issues.

And of course, you're basing this on an attribution error that the the actions UKG took were motivated by 'profit over people' without having even spoken to the people that made those decisions.

It's very easy to criticise what someone else is doing, especially when all the facts are not know <shrug> I'm not trying to convince you BTW

No wander it was easy for them over there..
Lets face it, what ever UK government was in they'd be in the same situation

I know it's suppose to be 'funny' but whoever put that together is a cockwomble .....What a ridicioulous thing to say......

Agreed Andy , but all these digs in the political ribs get boring and are designed to deflect true aims , im reasonably relaxed that in the death all thsese minority groups will drop beside the wayside come any election time , and the good people of the UK black and white will vote for their personal financial benefit and not some utopian unrealistic dream
