When I bought it from Richard Grace, he told me it was one of the best he had sold and that was a considerable percentage of those in the UK! No doubt this was helped by a visit to Lancaster Maserati every year for a service and anything else needed to keep it perfect and being garaged when not in dry weather use. The box file that came with it is full of expenditure despite having covered 26k miles. The plan was to keep it long term..... At least I have had a riotous 5k miles in it and it is certainly the best sports car I have owned (including the Strad). I've still got a couple of old Mercs and a 30 year old TVR to play with but being Maserless is not good!
Richard knew that I had continued to take good care of the car and offered me a very fair price. We met for a farewell lunch in Shropshire before he drove it back to Chester. He called to confirm it is the best in the UK to his knowledge, which doesn't help my disappointment and loss - "drives so smoothly, lovely ride quality, crisp gear change. Paintwork and interior are also superb. I can’t recall ever having driven a Gransport LE drives as well as this one". He sent me the advertisement photos yesterday. Thanks Richard but it is not helping.....
Anyway, I have decided on a career change and if it goes well I may get the man maths calculator out again and give Richard another call. I have decided to merge two great passions of mine producing high end bespoke automotive photography books. I am partnering with an incredibly talented team who are probably the best bespoke book makers in the world
https://www.bookedimages.com/car-photo-books/ The website is good but the finished products are amazing to behold. I have all the equipment I need and have brushed up on skills through training with a top UK photographer. My first couple of clients are delighted so fingers crossed there is sufficient demand.
