I had my clutch replaced at a main dealer, cost no where near 5k, something like £3800 Inc vat. If someone tried to charge me 5k, I'd have laughed at them thinking they were joking. Why anyone has been told that a clutch is that expensive is strange. I had an experience at a main dealer where I was told a 30,000 service was £4000 + vat, when I later spoke to the man in charge I was told the true price of about £1800 and he apologised that I had been mislead. so don't believe everything your told.
Oh I'm not stressed, just amused at this thread. It's funny to read people who have never owned a car making wild an inaccurate comments. Carry on please, perhaps you could talk about the costs of the brake disks, or petrol cap.

We do that too Peter....and save a fortune .........as ever theres lots of half truths out there.........both as owners and to those making innocent enquiries or even chatting amiably amongst the various interested parties in each and every car. marque and MD/indie.

Thats life.....as ever I try to do lots of research before parting with..........sometimes the first thing you were told about a car or cost was indeed true, on other occasions......1/2 it then divide by 3!

Why's that Andy? Some of it is all right although they do eat rather a lot of pork and boiled cabbage. I really like Bratwurst or even the Currywurst, washed down with a decent beer. However, I don't really like the wheat beers such as Leffe as it gives me a banging headache.

,,,,especially towards the french; they tried to f*ck them from behind (14-18, 39-45) and now they are in bed with them and trying to f*ck everyone else from behind (EU). Don't you just love 'em?

Your being very silly peter, we have all agreed to move on from this but you still decided to wave in with that, adam is a young boy, but a very knowledgeable boy, id say more than you even & what hes saying is what they told him now if they lied to him like they lied to you well there you go no problem then....
Now with me, to say again, im talking **** cos ive never owned 1 i cant talk bout them is rubbish, like i said in ENGLISH, i was there when they charged him!! Not told him but charged him that figure thats why im saying what im saying.....as a moderator that wants an argument is just plain silly & you should be ashamed of yourself, this is not helping the forum & i will not post on this thread again, your an argumentative chap i see but thats it, we have all tried to move on apart from you.......

Slow down everyone, you are picking a fight with Gring, one of the founder members of this forum, I assume that's you yes Pete?

So we assume you still have it, why not take this opportunity to tell us how the whole experience has been....you know us on here, whenever a main dealer mentions a price we go running for the hills, you should know the sort of thing, you used to have one.

Still going to the usual place on Tuesdays, Iam not sure its open at the moment, swing by there is always a beer waiting for you, I am there between 6 and 7pm.

We have a meet in a couple of weeks, ill bell you nearer the time to see if your interested in coming:

Matt, is (Peter) Gring a moderator as the writing under his avatar suggests?

The Blue Gallardo on the profile certainly looks familiar, I remember us all being very jealous of it on the 'other side' :)

Howdy Gring :D
