what do we have to do to get on the list of the 458??

the spyder will be coming out next year and was wondering how to go about it??

the 458 had a list price of £170k and with the impotant options it was £190k but they are being sold at £230k as you can see..thats a great profit...

i hear ferrari drivers have 1st opportunity to purchase but is that all??

ill remortgage if i can get 30k out of it

Do your homework first Dem , find out when their next new model is due out , i used to work for an Arab company, Yemen Gulf Consultancy , one guy's job in our office was to constantly and consistantly place deposits on new/fashionable makes/models coming on stream that had waiting lists ,we used to supply the super rich/ leading dignatories from the Middle East that were here for either long or short stays , we permanently had endless supply Rolls Astons Bentley etc you get my drift , whilst there is an easy profit to be made, its very easy to get caught out if your not constantly aware of new models superceeding the existing ones you have on order, buyer beware mate

sounds like a great place to work loz

Unfortunately my area of expertise was on the shipping side , had 4 years as Operations Manager , expanding their shipping and containerisation , living out of a suitcase, expense account , and virtually travelling permanently may sound glamorous , but it gets tedious, believe me great whilst i was single but you miss out on an awful lot

Speculation.....hhhmmmm...a dangerous way to go Dem.........IMHO....it is a gamble and you'd need to do lots and lots of research before mortgaging your house!

Have to agree with Frank, Dem , can you afford to take a hit first time round incase you screw up , if not stay clear , better to do that sort of thing when a completely new model is being released not an existing variation upon a theme

A different league altogether, but look at those who bought Fiat 500s thinking they would make money like the new Mini. Lots of fingers burned and lots of used 500s at bargain prices. Other end of the scale was the Jaguar XJ220.....

maybe you should try working with an existing dealer you buy something and he sells it on to split the profits

interesting views guys..thank you..was thinking about the 8c look at that..if you were 1 of the lucky 500 at 100k you can sell it now for 170k....the ferrari 458 spyder will be desirable and only 500 to be made for UK market i hear..that must be desirable but agree that at 200k its a big big gamble....

Ahem....<whistle> ...... no comment (other than it being the most expensive few months of car ownership I ever had!!!)

The way to do it is with a small deposit to benefit from the gearing, if you really want to play speculator, but I believe Ferrari want a big old deposit these days.

A friend of mine was on the 8C list, he has the hard bound brochure etc, but he couldn't see it through.

Nice brochure though!

Edited to say I had a Fiat 500, not a 220 - mind you they look like a good punt these days, firming up nicely....!!!

If you want to speculate, go for the vino. I have a friend who was given a case of port about ten years ago as a thank you for a very kind deed I won't go into. She received a card telling her of the gift, but that she would never actually see the said case as it was securely stored. Now she could buy a Stradale and have change.. lot's of change.

Different scale I know but I did this on the BMW Z4 when it came out ... saw it at the Paris motorshow and could see the interest in the car. Came back to the UK went straight to BMW..Left a deposit ...They only wanted £250 to which was a result....Sold the car before delivery and made £2000 ... Didn't have to pay any more as the chap came to the dealer and picked the car up with me and paid and even registered in his name. ...Result.

This is rare these days and only high end models seem to attract the same premium.
