Ferrari National Concours 2011

That's what I don't get; a 599 GTO in a concourse parade. Why? Does that mean you buy one, put it on a transporter, rock up and win !st place as it's exactly as it left the showroom and, therefore, in perfect concourse condition. Bollox.

Benny, i dont understand why the 599 GTO was in concourse judging. The classics grabbed my attention.

WUF 19 in the first pic has blown it; his left hand tail pipes aren't straight. Shocking. He should be taken out and shot for disgracing the marque.

Doesn't bother me Ian, seeing an F40 on the road and driven hard is a dream. Guy overtook us then had to slam on the brakes which locked up as abs was not on the F40. To hear the turbo's spool up is an awesome sound.

Nice pics all.................but did anyone take a pic on the MC Stradale that was in one of Andrews pics...........The most important Marque there..........Whats that grey rounded front Ferrari...a few pics of it.....Its horrid.........Looks more Jag than Ferrari

I think the comments so far are pretty much on the mark – no one of us seemed to think the likes of the 599GTO (with ONE hundred miles on the clock) makes any sense in a concours, it's clearly some bankers £300K investment; the OCD judging does nothing for me; newish stuff is interesting - but it's the history stuff (irrespective of $$$) that's really makes this worthwhile for me – the 166 in the same ownership for 40 years, bought cheap from an Autocar ad; the 266 with the first shark nose treatment; Steve McQueen's 250 in brown (but it works)…etc. And yes, a different crowd, but I'd still go again next year. Also good to meet Loz, Andrew and Adam in person (great pics both).

The MC Stradale was too hemmed in so i did not bother taking any, besides, i saw it/posted pics of that the other week from when i went to Graypaul. Sat in the MC for about 10 minutes yesterday then one California owner came over to me and said, MC or California, i said i would not even look at the Cali as the MC does what the Cali does (apart from the roof coming off) for a lot less money. He just said to me, wrong car. Ok mate whatever, funny that he was dressed up to the nines in Ferrari sh!!t.

ETA; Andy, that grey Ferrari (WUF19) yep it is pig ugly but is one of only 2 cars, it is a 575 Zagato, there is one in black and the other in grey. It was up at RM Auctions earlier this year at Mercedes Benz world in Brooklands but failed to sell i believe. If it had of sold, there is a good chance it would go abroad being so rare.

Agree with what you say Norman, i tend to only go to the Concourse because of the classics that attend, unlikely to see them at any other car event in the UK.
