After Loz's disaster of a blown tyre on the way to France for our Autumn trip, I think it might be a good idea to get either a loaner space saver or for the forum to club together and purchase one.

Can anyone who has one for the GS/42/32 (QP is different) could they make themselves know on here?

I was thinking of asking Eurospares if they would donate a used one as they advertise on here for free, anyone on good terms with them and who is prepared to ask the question?

One person can carry the wheel, or take turns so say if in Le Mans, can be called upon in times of need.

Am I right in thinking that Enz has one for his 612 and its the same?

Frank, the space saver is one size fits all.

When a wheel gets bigger, the tyre profile gets smaller, so the overall diameter is always the same.

Ie, a 17 inch alloy will run 45 profile, and a 18 inch run a 40 profile and a 19 inch run a 35 profile...give or take.

Matt,
yes, I have a space saver for the QP and the PCD is different so will not fit a 3200, 4200 or GS
I recently purchased a spare for the 550, which I think will fit all of the above (except the QP),
and at some point hope to be meeting up with Paul L to test this.
Regards,
Enzo.

Great Enz, would we be able to borrow it for Le mans and the autumn France trip? Of course if you are away yourself those weekends and cant lend it we would understand.

What about this one enz?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/135-80-18-Jag...ar_Wheels_ET&hash=item56400fa4cc#ht_500wt_894

Says the central hole is 54.1 mm, can you have a look at yours Enz, and see if its potentially a goer?

If we could get a cheap one of 5 x 108 the centre hole i could get machined to fit our cars at a small engineering shop i use up the road in Leighton Buzzard, and an inner spacer welded in to create the right offset , after all its the case its for emergency only so speeds will be kept to a minimum , worth maybe when planning an overseas trip to pre check where the nright size tyres are available just incase , ive have that bridge to cross wont be in the same situation again , i'll be more than prepared the next time , but after doing 5 european trips in 12 months one blow out isnt bad going , just gutted it screwed up a really good weekend , missing out on being wiv me mates
