what i dont get is how do they know it is the glue, surely that is all melted and f*cked to know that the glue caused the problem

Frank, I wouldn't be a bit suprised if they had been made in England, this is after all the country that made warships out of magnesium and wondered why the burnt to the water line when hit by execet missiles.

Aluminium ........was the culprit.....Rob........................aluminium................everything will burn at a high enough temperature!!!

Nah, magnesium alloy. everything will burn at a high enough temp, agree. but some materials make it easier to burn. ally will melt at lower temps before it combusts, thats why it is used in castings.
magnesium likes to burn.

Twas the magnesium element that made it burn, would have been too soft and bendy on its own, ships have to be made of material that wont have stress fractures.
