And only selling the Ypsilon, so one car lineup and only in Italy, could see the brand dissapear eventually..!!

Its not the Lancia of old, they used to be known for there engineering. Been at least 20 years since I can remember their last car I would want to own. I think they died a long time ago, remind me now of a struggling BL.

They have been branding Chryslers as Lancia in Europe so it's been dead for a while really.

Wasn't it Lancia that the Top Gear boys voted the greatest car brand ever. I seem to recall that there was a reasonable amount of substance to their view. A shame it should be reduced to this. Better to have let it die with its history unsullied?

A Lancia Beta was nearly my first car..........until my ultra prudent father intervened.

When I think back to the Lancia Integrale and the 2 Lancia Dedra's we have had in the past, which were all pretty good, I think it's a shame they could not stick to producing good cars and correcting past errors..!!

I give it 3 years then tata Lancia, such a shame.

The article sums it up....years of underinvestment.

Would that be the same TATA that own Jaguar Land rover Matt?

I did not think Lancia made cars anymore...just stuck their badge on others.

A crying shame that Lancia can not go back to their roots again and make their classy prestige and rally cars. I wish that Lancia would produce another 4wd rally machine. Stunning looking Lancia Concepts keep cropping up on facebook and its really P****ng me off.

Must have been more than five years ago. I had just bought my Hawk Stratos replica and had popped into my local FIAT dealer with it to get a colour code. Seeing the car, the MD approached me and asked whether I would be willing to lend him the car within the next few months as "Lancia are going to be relaunched in the UK and we are one of the dealers chosen to sell the range."

I gave him my details and never heard another word from him.

A real shame but Fiat won't fund Lancia to build real Lancias anymore. I would rather they withdraw than carry on selling rebadged Chyslers

Had a Delta Turbo in the late eighties. Absolutely loved it. Bright red with black trim, those gorgeous alloys and Alcantara trim. Went like stink (especially as the previous car had been an Audi 80. 1.6.

Remember taking it for a service at the dealer in Nantwich & he offered me his Integrale. Now that's one that got away. My wine merchant had a Thema V8 recently that was up for sale for £5k. Ferrari engine in a saloon with an overly padded velvet interior! Not many of those around.

Always hankered after a Fulvia too. Very sad news.
