True enough but you couldn't go into the paddock or the Porsche curves due to sensible COVID restrictions but yes it was good plus being in August the weather was warmer in the evening.

I my first year (2017??) in June, it was so hot the track temp was nearly 50 degrees and at the end of the race, no one wanted to stand anywhere in the sun, hence we stood in the shade of the stand before the Start/Finish chicane.

Was that not warm enough for you then?

That was expensive as we had to keep hydrated with the trackside beer...good Aston v Ferrari finish....

Think you'll find that was Aston vs Corvette. With the Corvette's tyres being completely shot on the penultimate lap.

At €9 a pint, it's always expensive to keep hydrated at Le Mans!

I’m only going to be able to do the Thursday onwards. Will speak with Aran to get the train with them.

You pair of big drop-out babies!

Still, better that than missing it completely.

I’ll be on holiday until the Tuesday. So it’s a bit tricky being in two places at once.
I couldn’t get out of it either as we booked it to be away for Alex’s 40th.

I think I would have come home to divorce papers if I was away for her birthday!

It just shows a woeful lack of imagination, frankly. What much-loved wife wouldn't appreciate the thought of a husband who treated her to a week of pampering with her girlfriends over her birthday. With the children.

This June is a nightmare for family commitments, in laws 60th wedding anniversary, nieces 21st, MIL 80th the only way to make it work was to book 3 weeks in UK with me nipping away for a long weekend (Wed-Mon) in the middle leaving the rest of the family in the UK.

Even work weren't over keen on me taking almost all of June off but based on the fact I have nearly 40 days of leave this year due to them asking me to carry over time from last year they didn't have much choice.

A few raised eyebrows all round but it was that or miss all the family events as Le Mans always takes priority ;)

I put LeMans in the family diary before anyone else arranged anything, so have been quoting the “first come first served” rule and other holidays have to work around it.
Even for work I have arranged our board meeting around it.
It helped that I also told MrsScaf “you can arrange any holidays you like to any destination you like, so long as you avoid LeMans” :D

She’s going away for a Spa weekend next month. Sadly, not taking the kids.

Getting divorced once was expensive enough. Not sure I could afford it again.

Anyway. I’ve been with Alex over ten years now. I’ve grown rather fond of her.
And her cooking is good as well.
Same here with Ms French and I'm going to get a EU passport again too ;)
