My Poorly 360

Help guys back home and checking my motors and the 360 only running on the right hand bank. The left hand has shut down. Its an immobiser issue for sure. Have done a batt reset and had it on my diagnostics but that only tells me 4 cylinders not firing can't access alarm system. The 4200 just running perfect still the most reliable car I have ever had. Any advice gratefully received Phil.

Rather surprised that anyone would design an immobiliser that could even be able to act on each bank separately, but you seem to be very sure!

Sounds like wiring. My mate had a 430 and had something similar and it turned out the multiplug to the ECU had partially come away.

Just think of all the fuel your saving!

Its been so wet down here the last few weeks whilst you have been away...it could be if the car has been out in the weather that it is damp...some WD40 and a battery re-set?

Phil, have a word with John Greatorex at GT Cars (Warrington). He generally has a good idea what goes wrong with these things and he can probably talk you through what to check for,

Cheers Frank will make the calls. It can only be simple as running fine one day and then after laid up for a few days fired up only on 4. Will let you know how she gets on.

If it is the damp Phil you are welcome to use tbe garage at mine whilst you are away for the winter.

Cheers for that Peter. But I am pretty sure I have an ECU fault. It needs to go on bespoke diagnostic gear so I may have to trailer her to one of the Indies.

The 360 has two ME 7.3 Ecu.s one for each bank,it is possible that one has gone down(though unlikely but I have seen it before).They can not be repaired,but only replaced if that is indeed the reason
You are a bit too far from us for me to have a look ,but if you find it is an ecu I can help with replacement.

Cheers Alfa Tuner going to get in there and swap the ECUs around to to see if it will make a difference. Just trying to find the time at the minute.
