Gutted!!!

I was hoping it’d be a 2+2 like the Evora, you’d think with Audi no longer producing the TT there would be a market for a 2+2 at this price point.

My upset is compounded by the fact that it looks so good, both interior and exterior.

Still, as mentioned in a previous post, the price of Evora 400’s and 410’s should start coming down pretty sharpish

I love it. Supercharged V6, manual, that blue, silver wheels…
People are moaning about the weight (1400kg) but Evora is 1440kg and the Esprit V8 was 1380kg, and this will be faster, better built and perhaps even more engaging.
Lotus has been pandering to the lightness is everything crowd for 25 years and it’s led them to dismal sales. Would hardcore Lotus fans prefer to have no Lotus?

As a long time Lotus fan I agree that performance through lightness has been the cry for years and years but actually Colin Chapman do start to move away from some of that as he tried to move into the more upmarket sports car centre…..He wanted lightness but this is why I think the cars were great but compromised at times. The issue is Lotus could only make a limited amount of cars for the track focused brigade and have needed a car like this for years. Plus if you look at the second video I posted when they talk to Gavin Kershaw it can be you daily drive or you weekend track car depending on spec and engine. I see no reason why this will not sell well for Lotus …..What other new car that starts at 60k looks as good as this. On looks alone it looks like a 100k plus car …. Well done Lotus …..

There is that and the Evora 410 is such a great car…..This is just the start of a new chapter for Lotus so who knows what they will do with this…Convertible, 2+2….But this is their last petrol engine and what a swan song it is….

Lotus looks nice and the price point seems good but as Andy says this will be for the 4 pot you would assume.

I do like the Evora , always have but prices have held quite well for a Lotus

I'm surprised at the reasonable starting price, I recall the launch edition of the Evora 12 years ago was £60k too.

I been reading the tech and I now can’t decide which is the cheaper car the 4 or the 6 as the 4 with the gear box feels like it will be more expensive….Surely not but who knows. That 4 pot is a great engine and I am sure will be the choice for everyday driving and economy I would say. A song as they do have the 400 bhp and not the 360….

Would you really have a 4 pot Boxster/Cayman/Alpine over the 4 pot Emira ?

My concern is is it basically the same as the Alpine and they’ve not done well.

The difference here is the way it looks over the Alpine….Love that car but this looks much more expensive and I think there are more die hard Lotus nuts out there than Alpine. When I had my Lotus I thought it was very much like Maserati fans…Only a Lotus would do and very loyal.

I like it, looks good, the design looks functional aerodynamically. Nothing looks out of place. That starting price of UNDER 60k is the winner for me, is the MC20 4 times better?
Emira means leader/commander btw not female Emir.

£2k refundable deposit paid to be amongst the first to be able to spec one. Was a Lotus guy before Maserati, and this looks like the car that should have replaced the Esprit. Will do nicely to replace my Alpine in a year or two
