Morning, all, had I not read Newton's description of his weekend, I'd tell you mind had been quite busy doing clever DIY things. Compared to Newton, I did little more than get up, scratch my ar5e, and go back to bed. Despite that, we now have new light fittings in a few rooms and I've pretty much finished the re-vamp of the hall and downstairs crapper. And hacked back some exuberant plants in the garden. And got rained on quite hard. And now it's Monday again. Back at it!

New, what do you think of the new iTelephone XII Maximus?

Have a good week, all.

Immovable deadlines; the carpet is coming tomorrow for the hall, stairs (fitting then removal for edging up as we are only having a runner), landing and new living room. Absolutely have to have all the under floor stuff done by tonight. Daughter No.2 is working like a Trojan varnishing the stairs and other woodwork in time.

Thoughts on the phone; well it is big (compared to previous), I have been very frustrated because of the cracked screen failure state of the previous (10 Pro) I was unable to get a recent backup. The previous has been wiped and sent for repair so I couldn't do a simple transfer. At the moment I have basically a copy of my iPad working as a phone!

Hopefully I'll get the 10 back some time this week, reinstate it , update it and then I'll wipe the 12 and make a full transfer... Other than that I don't have any opinion on it yet. Oh yes - DON'T get an Olixar gel case as the facial recognition doesn't work through it! The case will be meeting my Scouse mate 'Stanley' any minute now!

Morning all. Come to work for a rest. Seems like DIY was the order of the day this weekend.

Another couple of coats of paint in the lounge again, and also chopped down 8 conifers. Using a hand saw.
But then decided to do it properly and bought a chainsaw. So 2 further ones about 15 foot high were felled along with a 30+ foot Christmas tree that the previous owners thought would be a good idea to plant 4 foot from the house!

That had to go before the roots caused any issues.

Today is going to be a busy one with calls to most of the EU (well, Spain, Holland, Poland , Slovenia and Hungary) as well as a load of proposals to put together.

When you say loud. How loud? The one we currently have you can barely have a conversation with it going!

Perceptibly louder than the previous but the floor is still up at the moment so it will quieten down when this is back down and even more so when the carpet is over it. In terms of dB I don't know. You can hear the pump is on in some of the house and when you are in the shower but it is not unreasonable; I'd say the one on the en-suite is louder, I tend not to use that one at anti-social hours.

Surprised you haven't gone down the rugged phone route mate.
Mine even survived my motorcycle accident in New Zealand.

Well I used to use fully ruggedized tablet PC's out in the field (Xplore iX104) but I don't need that much tech out on site anymore. It is more about photos on site and write it up later.

Years ago we had a new loud shower pump and it mage a HUGE difference standing it on a rubber mat. I used a fairly large sheet of rubber matting designed to stop carpets slipping, folded over a few times.

I thought everyone had pressurised systems these days? Not had a shower pump for about 20 years....

C

Yup. We went:
Gravity -> Pumps -> Mains
over the past 25 years

BUT it does mean that pressure drops for you if someone else is doing something; eg two showers at the same time.

Yeah. Ours are pretty good, although we try and avoid having two showers / dishwasher etc etc.

Our water tower is bloody huge and above the estate. Which is nice as we are at almost the lowest point so on full whack it can feel like the top of your head might come off :D
