morning all - about to leave the laptop for the Bic Mac as I start work at ten. :p

Have my own P.E. session (F45) 12:15 today so might need to fuel up, with coffee and biscuits. Stay safe the weekend is in sight.
Please let the car stuff get going soon!

Today is bleak. Getting a car dropped down that has been to multiple garages and a main dealer. A 16plate chevrolet captiva 2.2d 50k miles doesnt run right. Has had fitted ecu, cam, crank sensors and wiring loom. The guy has over 2k on it now and still not fixed. Quite a simple fix I think but its cold in the workshop today. Other jobs, rr sport immobiliser and key set programming. Then a few buttons to paint for a guy thats doing a custom ice install on his 4200.

How about this as a Challenge ?
Read the description over £3,000 on an ECU.

In an update to my ongoing PC woes. I thought I would plug the ethernet cable in 'just in case' it had fixed itself.

And f*ck me it has! Really!

In fact it is now working better than before hand.

The building IT people don't understand why, I don't understand why. It's working, that's all I know!:oops::oops::oops::happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2:

At a guess the firmware for the ethernet driver was having a little lie down. I had something similar yesterday evening. Made no sense at all. Dropped the port administratively, bought it back with exactly the same settings, and suddenly we're on line again. <goes for a little lie down>

Duplex mismatch was one that used to get on my nerves when dealing with different telcos. If its cisco gear TDR was always a good starting point for making sure the cabling is good.

Good day,
I can confirm I am now COVID free and allowed back into work Monday,
Been working from home this week, but the snipers have obviously been gossiping....was a mention I may not get paid. I pointed out as far as I am concerned the company has put me on gardening leave until I return a -ve result. They said well you may be just loafing and not working, pointed out I have completed somewhere in the region of 120 Major Haz Reviews and Risk Assessments, seeing how they give us 1/2hr for each that is a 60 hour week.....
Don't think our Site Manager was happy when I asked if he was questioning my integrity and moral values......
Hey ho - timesheet approved.
Have a good weekend in this crazy time.
Dave

Oh yeah, but you wouldn't expect something that's been working fine for months to suddenly decide that ;). Well I wouldn't!

A big thanks to StickyPlastics for taking this on. Having previously approached the US guys I was left surprised to find that they were not in the slightest bit interested. One in particular was particularly unfriendly, whereas, Roland has been a pleasure to discuss this with. In short, he couldn't have been more helpful. Taking my rough scribes and redrawing into something he could use.

Although Edwin247's bezel looks great my preference was to modify an original surround. Giving the option to retain a number of buttons which have been reassigned different functions. The final piece of the jigsaw was custom legends that depict the new functionality. Thank you to Roland for making it possible.

I'll give you the pleasure to show the finished photo ;) all ended well. Thanks to our US partners that are all about something; going forward they may be more helpful to fellow owners.

Well that's distinctly average isn't it! :D
Brilliant Roland - looks far better than I'd hoped for.
The others your emailed over look every bit as good. Thank you.

A very good Saturday morning to all. Have a great weekend whatever you are doing.
Morning,
You’re up early ;),
DIY weekend for me, new bedroom cupboards arrived from ikea, so old to dismantle and new to build, and en-suite to finish.
Have a good day,
Dave
