The Italians give themselves 360 days to notify you. So you are screwed.Arghh!! Just received an email from Hertz saying that they have been informed of a traffic violation made by the gutless Renault I hired following the demise of the QP after conquering Mount Ventoux. It says the infraction occurred at 20:04 on 27 Sept. Looking back at the itinerary it should have been tucked up at the Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi in Camogli while we were partaking of the local fayre.
Did we arrive late can't remember? Was this the meal in the howling gale as the waves crashed against the shore? What larks!
I do recall that it was a bit tight getting down there even in the Clio. Capelli to the masers that negotiated those bends!
I await both the admin charge from Hertz for dobbing me in it, and the fine from the Italian traffic authorities.

I think you may have done - I think you arrived after Lisa and I did. It was that meal.Did we arrive late can't remember? Was this the meal in the howling gale as the waves crashed against the shore? What larks!
Thanks for getting done - just had a similar nostalgic flick through the photos.17 months later, Ive just received (and paid EUR91.70) for my contravention of the Italian Highway Code - "In the build up area, was driving in a limited traffic zone without authorisation" in Camogli.
I was driving the pokeless Renault Clio rental by this time, since the QP had expired in a puff of coolant after conquering Mount Ventoux. The Polizia contacted the rental car co who then dobbed me in it (at my further Eur 25 expense!)
Anyway it allowed me to look up this thread and get a reminder of great (and eventful) times!
