Andy, I personally wouldn't waste the money on getting additional insurance - there's nothing to hit.

Potencialy the only *damage* you could do is knock your geo out of true if you slide from a low grip surface to a high grip surface at speed - but you won't get up to the required speed easily.

Count me in as interested please Miles. No idea which car yet, but guessing this would be more fun in RWD?

Just like the old days...................Well done Miles for taking the initiative!

These days are great training days...............the run off is colossal, no matter whether you have just passed your test or have 50 years of driving experience it is a fun way to learn a lot....the car gets wet but not thrashed.........you would be hard pushed to do damage let alone anything that requires insurance

RWD is a big learning experienceand loads of fun but fwd (understeer control.....and it has a hand brake!) and 4x4 is still a learning curve..................switch the driver aids off.......

I could fancy this, again subject to dates, 50/50 whether I'm working or not. If Mrs isn't working either, we'll bring 2 cars, be interesting to feel the difference in a front engined Vs rear engined car!

Hi All and apologies... been unhappily detained in Frankfurt for the last week on business so I'm playing catch-up.

Hi Malc, Please don't apologise!! All help and experience warmly welcomed! :)

I would like to suggest a later date if that's okay with everyone as we'll need to get the numbers up to make this work (20 to 24 drivers) and payment is required one month in advance, so I'll call Rockingham and see what the options are. Once done we can get a date in the diary so that everyone can plan accordingly.

Have been in touch with Rockingham and here are some later dates for your perusal.....

April – 3rd
May – 7th, 21st
June – 11th, 12th

If we were up for it, we could make a weekend of it and tie it in with Stanford Hall?

Thoughts?..................

Only date that does not work for me is June Miles...(Le Mans),
Regards,
Enzo.

Ah yes Enzo. Thanks for the reminder, as this would rule out a number who have shown interest.

How does May 7th / 21st work for everyone?

Shall we settle on the 21st May?

24 drivers maximum (12 drivers in each of a morning and afternoon session) with full payment required by Rockingham by 21st April. 24 participants should work out to about £85.00 per driver.
That realistically means we'll need to have achieved full participation by end of March leaving a couple of weeks to gather moneys.

Please let me know by confirming below and I'll reserve.

Enzo, to belatedly answer your question... there's no age limit. Just need a license and permission of the car owner.
Andrew, to belatedly answer your question... you won't be covered, though as posted previously, it's a very safe environment, so damage would be very unlikely.

Provisional list so far.....

Emtee. - Confirmed for 21st.

Hi Miles - this is a little to close for comfort to my spawning date.... might have to relegate myself to a reserve list for now!
