Wet handling day.

Hi All,

Thought I'd pick up on Dan's suggestion...

Anyone interested in a wet handling day? Though I didn't attend, I recall there was a similar event last year organised over the road.

I've contacted Rockingham and they have dates in March (others also). I thought as this isn't really weather dependant, we could do it sooner rather than later?

The format would be similar to last time with a morning session and an afternoon session and they can probably handle 16 - 20 cars max in the day, though I'm waiting for this to be confirmed.

Total cost to hire their wet handling facilities for the day, including instruction is £2K, so something around £100 to £140 per car depending on final numbers.

If we wanted to build this out further, there is a track session available on the 5th March, so this could also be organised within the day, though at additional cost.

Alternatively 19 / 20th March?

Just a general idea at the moment, but if you'd be interested, please just post and I'll get some further details together.

Regards, Miles.

Hi Enzo, Let me ask the question and I'll come back to you.

How far ahead do you know your travel plans? Do either of those dates in March look do-able? I'm sure I can get other dates if you think it would help?

Regards, Miles.

would our cars be covered by insurance for this?

Hi Andrew, Let me ask the question and I'll let you know. I do know it's a very safe environment and you won't be going fast at all, you'll just be going sidewards! :)

Hi, I went on the last session and it was a great day and very well organised by Rockingham staff. Your not insured but only 1 car is on the handling surface at a time and you travel away from the waiting vehicles so no danger even if you spin off. I don't think there was any age limit so long as you have a driving license.

Many Thanks Miles...
I know I will be travelling on a weekly basis all the way out to the end of June at the moment...
I just need to work out days that I can definately not have off...
I would say that 18/19/20 looks good for me, but am flexible.
Regards,
Enzo.

Checking my emails I see I've had one from Rockingham and they can cater for ideally 12 cars in each of the two sessions, which is good as it will bring the price below £100 per car.

They do however require full payment one month prior to the event, so I suspect March maybe too ambitious to get the numbers and payments so I'll look into later dates in April / early May.
