what is the GS going for, a GTS?

Cant stretch to a GTS, it will have to be a GT, it wont be a damage repairable, just a stepping stone to the GTS

Or I might go classic for a couple of years while the GTS comes down or this entry level Maser comes out.

No, airbags intact, just the damage you see. It runs a bit poor, but that due to the turbo pipes being squashed by the rads.

Sorry Andy, no 3.2.

Adam, the JTDm's are worth more than the 3.2, can you believe it!

SHOCK..Thats the biggest shock of the week Matt...I know how you love the 3.2...Still a beauty though mate..Well it will be...

On track and road there's nothing in it between a remapped 1.9 JTDm and a GTA, mostly because of the diseasel units massive torque, it does have to be worked through the gears though where I can just stay In 2nd and 3rd for most rapid stuff.

But then again teinal wheel speed in 6th if you've got road long enough is 167 mph

The GT is exactly the same colour combo as the one I had a few years back - it was also powered by the fuel of Satan!

Great car though and when I tested the JTD against the V6, in terms of handling I preferred the JTD.
As I needed something that was going to eat up the miles it was a no brainer.

I was about ot get a remap done but sold it before I got round to that.
Excellent car - good luck with it!

Cheers

Dave

That jtd is very well regarded and this is reflected on the residuals. That does shock me that the tuned up Jtd will keep up with a Gta. Any ideas where the best place to get the remap done down South?

I still can't get used to the sound of a DIESEL in my GT but I have to agree that it is the best variant [I've owned the 2L and the 3.2L so I can rightfully compare]. I get 43mpg with ample performance and better handling than the others.
Good luck with the rebuild Matt.

Can I ask you all, to keep an eye out for parts for me?

I have started a new thread with a full list:

If you want the best be prepared to travel to merseyside

Gus Lambrou at Alfatune has developed his own maps for the JTDm and the one that was comparible to my GTA and frankly the only car that was at a recent alfa Romeo sponsored track day at oulton park was a stock GT with Gus's map on it.

He currently prepares a couple of Porsche GT Cars and looks after the 156 Superturismo that was driven by Fabrizio Giovarnardi in the ETCC.

He is very well regarded on alfaowner.

Thanks guys, great stuff!

I have just popped to the scrappy down the road and got the front crossmember, bumper supports, slam panel, all removed for £40!
