Same here Dem, you hear about these scams all the time, I'd like to know exactly how they work.

We know that they don't have the car so I'm not really caring how it turns out, would like to see how far they will take the lie though and what they can do to 'prove' they have it with them...

Get her to take some pictures of herself holding a card with whatever words you choose - to 'prove' she is genuine - that 419 site had some corkers on there!

Or claim to be a leading hearing specialist who would consider taking the car as payment for surgery to restore her hearing. Get her to pay you a cash deposit first though!

Definately worth a read of the 419 scammers site , spent a few good hours on there about 5 yerars ago , absoluetly classic ended up helping and participating in one exposure in Dubai

Any ideas for a reply? Possibly that I am in Bratislava on Monday as I have to talk to some people - I run a security company there specialising in hunting down Nigerian scammers...

reply mate, that your really pleased that its still ha the original V8 engine , and your quite happy with £12000 all in but unfortunately you are only prepared to transfer cash money via western union and not by bank transfer due to tax reasons will that be ok, hopefully greed will get the better of him/her and we'll see if we can get that hook well and truly struck

Can you please confirm when the pre-heater/glow plugs were last serviced?

Does the car still have the OEM tool roll, including cranking handle?

Its one of the easiest ways to transfer cash from one country to another for those that havent got bank accounts , mainly the oiks touting in the internet cafe's in Lagos,

Beats me with these car scams how they expect people to buy a car of that value without seeing it or at the very least having an appraisal done by a bonafide tech, seems they try to rely on other peoples greed for a bargain to handover cash and not ask too many questions , its a pure numbers game for them , if only one in 1000 falls for it then they gotta work a bit harder and send out plenty of scams , when they have a hit .............i dont have to tell you Lewis of all people what £10K will buy in Lagos
