Just got in... Absolutely knackerd!
Gate raised £1,080.00 well done all, the que never went down and we were only frustrated by the limited number of driver passes (6 shared with Mitubitsi gang) only 3 between the 6 or 7 massers... Andy thank you so much for getting this gig it was simply the finest day ever I ragged my car stupid all day and not only did it no break it actually fixed itself!!!! My driver's seat has seldom come forward by itself and has never returned; now works perfectly, amazing!!!
Indeed serious thanks to all the organisers and our two lovely other halfs who kept us supplied with a constant stream of people to convert or amaze all day; my youngest fan was probably about 4, sitting in the back as mum was in the front, her brother wanted to go on his own in the GTS, she just giggled, bounced around and wanted to go faster because of the lovely noise they make!
THis is my first time on a track with it other than wet handling and after just one sighting lap with my lad shotgun it was straight into taking punters around... Speeds, skills and abilities improved all day, after about 6 laps I dared to take off the MSP for the first time other than the wet handling day and the strange thing is I really didn't notice much difference except some signifficant drifts on the last couple of corners.
Two scary ones when first time I had been chasing down a VX220 on the straight only to find at the end of the big right hander he had STOPPED rather than mix it with a couple of the artic lorries who needed to change sides, being on the ragged edge I stood it on what brakes I had left to stop but ended up level along side him, thankfull there was room! The other was my spin out of the last corner giving it a blip to finish and over cooking it; no real drama, just manages about a 180 and just drove out of it with a wave to the photographer who needd a change of under garments...
This event works on so many levels, giving owners a chance to track a car all day for just a fiver, giving Joe public access to a ride in some simply awsome machines, raising some serious wedge for charity and much much more... Chissel me in in granite Andy I WILL be there...
Couple of photos to follow as soon as I get them from Alex!
