Mad Chris took his 360 Ferrari to Dick Lovett in Cardiff the other week and they told him they could service the car but if you wanted an official Ferrari service you would have to take it to Swindon...Are Cardiff no longer Ferrari/Maserati service agents .... Seems odd to be service agents in Swindon but not Cardiff......Chris seems to think they lost the franchise. Anyone heard anything.

Andy, that does sound odd, suppose if you call the Swindon office, they will be able to fill you in.

PS. The word 'dick' has been removed from the swear list as **** Lovett is getting a bit tiresome now.

that does seem a bit odd, i know swindon is the main DL showroom but i doubt cardiff is no longer a ferrari and maserati agent.

Just been up to Chris he has confirmed that they are no longer Ferrari Maserati agents in Cardiff ..... If you look at adverts they say they are specialist cars .... Wonder what happened there.

Cardiff are now sports and specialist service agents only. There are to be new premises built and details released soon... somewhere between M4/M5

Andrea I thought you would be along to fill us in, so to speak....So do they not have the Maserati/Ferrari franchise in Cardiff at all now?

it is the same with Ferrari/Maserati Stratstone, i believe they have had a bit of bother, but they are having a new showroom built very soon and it opens early 2011.

Cardiff have unfortunately lost the Ferrari/Maserati franchise, and are only able to operate as a `specialist`. They are still able to service & repair them, but not with the official banner above the door. Any `main agent` work ie Official servicing or Warranty work, has to be carried out at Swindon branch. There are no plans to re-open an approved Ferrari/Maserati dealer in Cardiff at this time. Hope this helps!

That's more or less the situation although it is fair to say that Dick Lovett have given up the Ferrari and Maserati Franchises in Cardiff rather than lost them. There was just not enough work in Cardiff and Wales to support a Maserati and Ferrari Sales showroom. The aftersales side of the business was holding its own, hence they are staying open as a specialist to cater for there existing customer database.

There is also going to be a brand new Dick Lovett Maserati and Ferrari facility to replace the current one in Swindon. We are actually intending to move just down the road, slightly closer to the M4. This should be one of the best facilities in the UK (hopefully).

Regards Alan

Thanks for your kind comments Parisien.

We will of course be doing every thing we can to look after our customers in Cardiff and indeed the rest of the UK, the new improved dealership will obviously help us achieve this, its just a pity we will have to wait for it to be built!

Alan, thanks for the reply....It's a real shame that Ferrari/Maserati are no longer in Cardiff, thought it was a bit of a limited market.....Always popped in to have a looik when passing and when I had my 3200 the service I recieved was 2nd to none.....I have nothing but praise for all the Dick Lovett sites I've dealt with...BMW Bristol, Porsche Bristol, Maserati Swindon........Professional and informative...Oh and Edwars Lovett scared the **** out of me a few years back when I test drove an M3 CSL....Carry on the good work.
