They love that. I was refused main dealer service records / receipts because they had the previous owners address on.

And Maserati destroyed all of my receipts for my GT when they bought that back from me.

With that in mind, (GDPR), effectively no car will ever have a service history......

Although I know Mercedes store the service history on line, not sure if that removes owners details etc though.

Best get a PPI before purchase. Unless your name is Spoons.

How about the 15k Bentley dealers on eBay , their safest option is move after every sale and burn the premises to the ground

Cheers, I still don’t understand how all dealers don’t operate like I do. PPI, rectify, list it. It’s not rocket science.
I suppose many of the dealers can afford the odd disgruntled customer as it’s more of a numbers game whereas for you reputation is king. It’s shows there is more than one way to skin a cat, at the expense of the public…..

Thank goodness Maserati enthusiasts have you to go to for well prepared cars! Have you ever considered opening up other sites?

It’s something I’ve considered Chris, but there really is only a finite supply of very good examples out there so I don’t think it would work.

I guess this is why the trade/retail gap is substantial on exotics. The exorbitant cost of fixing even minor stuff, never mind the big stuff.

Problem seems to be some dealers appear to justify low trade bids based on prep costs, which is fine, but then not actually prepping them…

FF’s are nice, but what’s up with that known weak point that costs 25k to replace (ok on this car apparently). Never mind the £15k or so of other bits and bobs that this one needs, which you could say are wear and tear stuff that would/should be part of prepping the car, hence the wide trade/retail gap.

I had 30mins to kill earlier so look at the original dealers Google reviews - a real mix bag, but enough there to put me off from ever buying from them.

The front box (PTU) went belly up on this one too about 6 months after he bought it. Was fortunately covered by the Fez warranty.

Not sure how reviews system work, but note many of the 5* ones have zero comments which I find odd.

I am sure that press cars like this one are always sent out on fresh rubber and properly aligned but any high performance car that has been through multiple journalists will have had a very tough time - look at the snow video to see why the underbody cooling ducts were damaged! How many owners will do multiple launch control starts etc. I would not want an ex press car for certain!

I thought that dealer was supposed to be top notch. Remember them being on tv many times in the passed with their 6/7 figure cars. Maybe the old man has taken his eye off the ball and said son is a spoilt brat dodgy dealer.
