Funny you should mention that Frank , took along my reciept from last time and spoke to those concerned at the barriers and i now have the forms to fill in to get a refund , apparently for some reason it got classified as a class 1 instead of class 4 or visa versa, but just cap it all i got nicked for speeding on the way home east of Rouen after just leaving the services , and i truly think myself lucky for around an hour just previously i had been hitting 140 but the radar showed me accelerating to just under the 95mph or 154 Kmh bang went 45 euro's rather sharpish but im happy with that, just 30 mins earlier and i'd be far worse off

Not sure Frank , to be honest i just wanted to pay the money and get on my way , decent chaps tho had a bit of a laugh with them , but i did get the feeling its a tourist thingy as all the cars that were brought back into the services (conveniently next to the cash point ) in the 20 mins i was there were ALL foreign but i had gone past plenty of French registered cars that were speeding as i passed them so it does beg the selective question ! anyway i have a few things that happened then which i cant post on here which hopefully will see me duck any points that they might try and stick on me im keeping me pinkies crossed

It really shows up the prejudice and easy pickings attitude of the Gendarmes though.......which colours all our attitudes towards them.

I wonder do they do it to the Dutch/Germans/Italians near their borders......would be interesting to find out!

Did I read right...decent chaps.........running a fever Loz?????!!!

Put it this way, after the performance interrogation and 5 minutes with the bonnet up ive learned what pweesonce means ( french for Horsepower) but i doubt very much thats how its spelled , the two motorcycle gendermes joked they were hoping i would give chase , untill we discussed the top speed , and the max their bikes did was equiverlant to 145 mph and i would have left them standing , had the car gendermes in stitches especially in their 110 hp diesel peugeot first time ive left the company of policemen with a smile on my face , as i said it so easily could have been worse earlier

Cheers Loz,
had a great time...navman was really good, would have been totally lost without it!
Just having a look through the forum now, will post a few bits in a while, hopefully also some clips of the racing we saw...but haven't checked it yet, so fingers crossed.
Regards,
Enzo.

Well just spent the best part of 3 hours cleaning the car and getting rid of 1,600 miles of French flies and other grud/grit etc...car drives better than ever at the moment...well you have to take it to the limit to dry the brakes off!

I'm glad I have Monday and Tuesday booked off as holiday...I think it's going to take me that long to clean the bugs off the front of mine!

A proper wash then Enzo....I would really enjoy cleaning your car as I find it relaxing and love seeing the final result....All those bugs on the front, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
