Robin,

Any photos to see as the website does not appear to have any [rooms/bar] Sophie and I often stay over night in places like yours and I would rather put money in a forum members pocket than some faceless chain/group.

I'll sort some out and post them on here. The website is under development and waiting for a couple of things such as a few days good weather so we can plant up the outside to make it a bit more pretty before renewing the exterior photo. Same with the letting rooms, we have decluttered, cleaned, got new bedlinen etc.,..but want to redecorate them as well. They are actually more than adequate as things stand but not up to the standard i would like them to be.

Watch this space.

Thanks for the details Robin.

Any thoughts on the following dates? They're Fridays / Saturdays for anyone wanting to stay over.

18 / 19 February.
25 / 26 February.
4 / 5 March.

All those dates work for me

As these all work for Robin, does anyone else have any preferences? They're all fine for me.

I would have thought later the better so we get nicer weather, but I suppose it wont make much difference this time of year.

This is the lounge bar which in due course will be completely refurbished, all we have done for now is de-clutter, clean and pain it.

Like my old local in Cumbria. Those painted beames need sandblasting back to natural but nice to see a pub like a pub rather than some contempary lounge.

Upstairs we have de-cluttered and cleaned, replaced the bed linen etc.,.. We will decorate each room in turn and change things like the pictures which are not to my taste.

This is one of our double en-suite rooms

I think they may have been painted black to hide the damage suffered when the pub burnt down about 5 or 6 years ago but yes otherwise I agree.

OK a question from my business partner who is also the Chef. Would we like him to come up with a set meal or would people prefer to order off the menu? At this time of year his signature dish is steak and kidney pudding for example (we can obviously cater for vegetarians) and steak is the other thing the pub is rapidly getting known for.

Alternatively let me know the sort of thing you would all like.

Martin used to work at Fortnum and Mason so traditional British Food is is speciality.

Just bumping this.

Shall we keep it simple for the time being and at least get a date in the diary so that Robin and Martin know what they're working towards?

Robin has already said these dates would be okay...

18 / 19 February.
25 / 26 February.
4 / 5 March.

Is everyone happy to say we meet and eat on one of those Fridays as a starting point? Anyone wanting to stay can then make their own plans directly with Robin.
