Very personally, I loved the 3 Evora’s I had, but they just didn’t have the quality of interior the car needed for the price, and the exterior design wasn’t quite well enough resolved.
The Alpine has similar issues to the Evora - the design doesn’t work consistently from all angles, and aspects of the interior are sub par on quality. However, like the Evora, it’s is a fantastic car to drive.
But whilst the Emira is very similar in size and shape, this time it looks like Lotus have nailed both the exterior design and the interior quality. The interior and exterior design looks different league, particularly at the suggested price point. So, if they have also improved on the driving qualities of the Evora, Lotus should be on to a winner.
And I think the price point is just right. There are many more people who will spend £60-70k on a car like this, than will spend £100k+ or even £200k+. And at this price point it will be a car people will be able to afford to drive, eg Evoras have proved to be nowhere near as price sensitive to mileage as your typical sports/super car.
